I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling as police sirens wail outside. I sigh, rolling over in bed when Bakugo slams the door open.
"Get up, you idiot."
"Huh?" I drowsily sit up, my eyes blurring his figure. At that moment a large bird-like creature crashes through the wall, bowling Bakugo over. I laugh, clutching my stomach tightly.
"Shut up." Bakugo wheezes, blowing the creature up with his quirk and shoving it out the hole in the wall. I stand up, stretching to wake up a bit.
"Okay, let's go."
"Aren't you going to change?" I shrug, glancing in the mirror at my black hoody and blue jeans.
"No." He doesn't complain, jumping out of the hole and blasting away. I call upon Speedy, overtaking him with ease. We find Best Jeanist near the middle of the city. He's easily fighting the creatures, sending them flying every which direction.
"Where are these guys coming from?" He asks no one in particular, gritting his teeth in annoyance. While he wraps fabric around one's neck, one stands up behind him, reaching for him. Bakugo and I react quickly, both bursting forward and knocking the monster back.
"What are you two doing here?" Best Jeanist growls, finishing off the creature he was fighting. I use speedy to shake my hand fast enough to phase through the monster, tearing the heart from the creature's body before turning to Best Jeanist.
"What do you mean 'what are you doing here'?" Bakugo yells, throwing his hands up. "There are villains everywhere and this is an internship! What do you expect?"
"I'd expect you to follow directions and stay put. This is no place for you. You are not ready."
"I am perfectly capable of fighting some mindless idiots!" Bakugo snarls, lifting his hand up and blasting a mutant that had jumped toward him. "See?" He gestures to the charred remains of the villain. Best Jeanist rolls his eyes, wrapping his cloth around a different opponent.
"You may be ready physically, but not mentally. You are too headstrong."
"That has nothing to do with anything right now!" I yell, butting into their argument. "There are villains running rampant through the city, and people that need help. It doesn't matter how angry he is. You need help and you know it."
"I don't need help from the likes of you." I stop my fighting, staring at him in disbelieve.
"You're lucky I'm here at all. For me to intern with you of all peopl-"
"Why do you hate me so much? What did I ever do to you anyway?" He snarls, smirking slightly. I ignore him, jumping to help a man trapped under some rubble. "Answer my question, Anonymous."
"I don't answer to the likes of you," I growl, glaring angrily at him.
"Oh? And why is that, exactly?" He meets my gaze, and I can't help but look away. He chuckles, staring down at me. "You're weak, Kyarakuta. Don't you forget that."
I exhale, scanning my environment for any more villains. I'm surprised to see Todoroki running toward us, freezing monsters on his way over.
"What are you two doing here?" He asks, trying to catch his breath.
"The same thing you are, idiot," Bakugo answers, running off to kill some more creatures. Todoroki nods, glancing around.
"I think Midoriya is in trouble. Have you seen him? He should be nearby." I shake my head, glancing at Best Jeanist.
"We've been busy with these things," I mutter. Todoroki nods, peering at the motionless corpses around us.
"I have to find Midoriya." I nod in agreement and he jogs away, glancing at his phone and correcting his path to Midoriya. Once he turns down an alleyway Endeavor appears, roasting Nomus easily with his quirk. I glance over to him, my eyes widening as his quirk joins with my own.
