The only problem with being first place is that no one wants to be on my team. That sucks. I'll just wait it out, I guess. Whoever's left will be stuck with me.
"HHEEEEYYY!!! You're first place, right? What a perfect chance to show off my babies!!!! Can I be on your team?"
"No."
"Wha- I don't see people lining up, you need me!"
"No, I don't."
"Hmph. Fine."
I watch the other people as they figure out their teams, strategizing what I should do with my own. With only five minutes left, I decide to walk around and find a team to join. Midoriya, Uraraka, and Tokoyami are huddled around each other, making up a plan.
"Hey, can I join your group?" Midoriya jumps around, panic falling over his face.
"Why would you want to join us?"
"Well, to be frank, I don't have much of a choice." Midoriya glances around, noticing that no one besides his team is within 20 feet of me. "Plus I have a lot of quirks that would be really helpful." Midoriya turns to his team to see what they think. Uraraka nods and Tokoyami shrugs.
"He'd be a good addition to our team." Midoriya nods his agreement, then turns back to me.
"You're in." That moment the timer hits zero.
"Oh, goodie. It's time to get this party started!" Our headbands are handed out and the teams take their places. Midoriya rides, being light as a feather thanks to Uraraka. Tokoyami takes the front for defense, dark shadow constantly circling our team. I copied his quirk earlier; just to be sure I didn't have any unexpected outbreaks. Uraraka and I form the back. I suggested being in the front for mobility or whatever, but I can't see the headband as easily upfront. Our plan wouldn't work with me there.
"OKAY, ALL YOU FIRST YEARS! I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WITH YOUR CHOSEN TEAMS! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED! ONE FINAL COUNTDOWN BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. THREE!"
"Conceal," I whisper, giving his quirk time to take over.
"TWO!"
"Are you ready?" Midoriya asks his team. We all nod.
"ONE!"
"BEGIN!" At that moment, every team lunges straight at us.
OMNISCIENT POV
"THREE!"
Takusan's irises turn white, making it look like he doesn't have any.
"TWO!" Midoriya quickly checks on his team, making sure they were ready for the challenges they were about to face.
"ONE!"
"BEGIN!" Midnight yells, stealing Present Mic's count down right from under him. Every team lunges at Midoriya, who is wearing the scores on his head. At the perfect time, Takusan touches the fabric, using Conceal to make it invisible.
Most teams stop in their tracks, confusion obviously taking over.
"Where'd the points go?" Someone mutters. One team, however, does not stop.
"YOU BETTER GIVE ME THOSE POINTS YOU STUPID NERD!" Bakugo blasts off of his team mate's backs, reaching for Midoriya's head.
"Speedy!" Takusan yells just before the team disappears from Bakugo's sight.
"WHAT THE HELL? YOU CAN'T RUN FOREVER!" Sero grabs Bakugo, bringing him back to the team with his quirk.
Takusan stops at the other end of the field, allowing his team a break from his running. Midoriya looks completely green (A/N Because... he's... you know... green. Heh... heh.), and Uraraka is vomiting. Tokoyami seems perfectly fine as dark shadow continuously circles us for defense.
"Sorry, I'll try not to do that too often." Takusan apologies as his teammates recover.
"No, you got us out of the way. It was a good move." Midoriya sits up straight, clenching his fists. "Since you hid the headband I hope no one will come after us, though the smart ones will figure out what happened."
"I have an idea, but I haven't tested it before." Midoriya glances at Takusan, who's staring at him with his black eyes. Takusan is determined to win, that much is easy to tell.
TAKUSAN'S POV
Since I don't know if my plan will work, I'm not going to use it unless absolutely necessary. I can't use Speedy again, not if I want to keep the team from falling over. We only have 13 more minutes to keep our headband, which isn't even visible to the human eye. I can see it, but no one else can. As long as we avoid the other teams we'll be fine.
"I TOLD YOU YOU CAN'T RUN!" I glance up, not surprised to see the angry hedgehog of a Bakugo plummeting straight for us.
"Element." The quirk takes over, and I use him to create a wall of earth around us. We hear Bakugo's blast as it hits the wall, but it does no damage to us. I break the earth into multiple rocks, then thrust them at Bakugo and his team. They hit Kirishima, who hardens to avoid injury. Bakugo creates an explosion that destroys the rest, protecting his team.
I sigh, creating a circle of fire around them.
"WHAT IS THIS?" Bakugo yells angrily. I trapped them, but I doubt that'll stop them. I use the air to create a funnel that the fire climbs up. Bakugo can't escape without blasting his teammates in the face.
"Good, that'll hold them for a while. Let's go." Midoriya instructs. We turn around, running away from the fire tornado I created. Shoji runs towards us, Mineta's balls flying out towards us. We manage to avoid them, but it gets more complicated as Asui's tongue joins in, reaching for the headband.
"Warp!" I create a portal with the quirk for the team to jump into. I put us on the other side of the field, away from Shoji's team.
"Just 10 minutes left! We can do this!"
"YOU IDIOTS! I'M GONNA KILL YOU FOR THAT!" Bakugo is once again lunging straight for us, his rage exploding from him.
"Hey, Kyarakuta? This might be a good time for your plan."
