Let the Races Begin

The two weeks went by far faster than I would've liked, but I still added quite a few quirks to my roster. They don't tell us what the games are, so I had no way of training for what I needed, but I should have everything covered. Each class is assigned their own waiting room. I sit in the back, watching as my classmates complain about wearing uniforms. I yawn, trying not to drift to sleep. I was training all night so I had no time to rest.

"Hey, Midoriya." I hear Todoroki's voice. He clearly wants to get something off his chest. I open my eye a little, watching the exchange.

"Hey, Todoroki, what's up?" The room falls silent and everyone glances at the pair.

"From an objective standpoint, I think it's fairly clear that I'm stronger than you." Midoriya flinches but admits that he sees the truth in Todoroki's words. "However, you've got All Might in your corner helping you out. I'm not here to pry about what's going on between you two, but know that I will beat you." Midoriya seems honestly terrified by Todoroki's declaration of war. The rest of the class seems to be in shock too.

"What's the big deal? Why are you picking a fight, and right before we start?" Kirishima asks him, setting his hand on Todoroki's shoulder.

"We're not here to be friends. Don't forget that this isn't a team effort." He shrugs Kirishima off him, walking over to me. "And you, Kyarakuta. I will beat you." I yawn, stretching.

"Good luck." His eyes widen in surprise and he takes a step back as I stand. I stretch again, turning and walking out of the waiting room. I probably shouldn't have done that, but it's too late now.

"HEEEY! MAKE SOME NOISE, ALL YOU RABID SPORTS FANS! GET THOSE CAMERAS PREPPED! THIS YEAR WE'RE BRINGING YOU SOME OF THE HOTTEST PERFORMANCES IN SPORT'S FESTIVAL HISTORY, GUARANTEED! I'VE ONLY GOT ONE QUESTION BEFORE WE START THIS SHOOOWWW... ARE YOU READY!?!?! LET ME HEAR YOU SCREAM AS OUR STUDENTS MAKE THEIR WAY TO THE FIRST STAGE!" That was a bit over dramatic, but whatever works I guess. My classmates and I step into the light, being met by a wall of cheers.

None-ending fireworks explode overhead as Present Mic continues to announce.

"WELCOME BACK TO THE UA SPORT'S FESTIVAL!" I try to drown the noise out. It's really hard to focus when you can't hear yourself think. I yawn, putting my hand over my mouth.

"Hey, are you okay?" Midoriya approaches me, tilting his head.

"Yeah, fine." He studies me, probably analyzing again.

"Well, good luck out there."

"Thanks." Present Mic introduces us and the other groups as we walk to the middle of the field. Once in the middle Midnight calls Bakugo to come up and give a speech. The other students are confused, but it's probably because he was the top scorer. That's not very fair to Todoroki and Yaoyorozu, but whatever.

Bakugo walks up to the microphone, clearly not a care in the world what everyone thinks of him.

"I just wanna say, I'm gonna win." He states simply, causing everyone to boo.

"Without further ado, it's time to get started! The first fateful game of the festival!" A large screen spins a wheel which eventually lands on Obstacle Course. Well, that'll be easy for me. Midnight explains what the obstacle course rules are, and then lets us go. We line up at the start, waiting for our cue.

"Hey Speedy, this is a good time for you." A few people glance at me but shrug me off as they realize I'm probably crazy. The second the bell rings I speed ahead of everyone, easily overtaking them. I come to a large clearing, not surprised to see large robots. Speedy has many possibilities, so I'm not worried. I simply vibrate and phase right through them.

"WOAH! WHAT WAS THAT BLUR? WAS THAT A STUDENT?"

"Yes. If you must know, that was Takusan Kyarakuta."

"WITH HIS QUIRK HE WON'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE CLEARING THE OBSTACLE COURSE! IT'S ALMOST NOT FAIR!"I smirk as I hear the pair commutating over me. I come to a large gorge with multiple pillars and ropes connecting them together. Honestly, this is too easy. If I run fast enough, I can run up walls. That means I can run to the bottom of this and simply run up the other wall. So that's what I do.

Next is a minefield. With my speed, I can be cautious and still get through within a few milliseconds. I speed through the field, easily making it to the finish line.

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED? WE HAVE A WINNER! AND THE OTHER STUDENTS HAVEN'T EVEN PASTED THE FIRST OBSTACLE! HOW DOES HE DO IT? TAKUSAN KYARAKUTA IS OUR CHAMPION!" It took me merely milliseconds to pass the course. The crowd falls completely silent as I stand near the door I just ran through. I yawn, leaning against a wall and waiting for the others to finish. It doesn't take long for the crowd to return to their old, very loud selves and for the game to continue on normally.

I watch the big screen as my classmates fight over first place. Todoroki is ahead of the rest, but when he gets to the minefield he slows down drastically. This gives Bakugo a chance to catch up, and eventually Midoriya too. Of course, the underdog, Midoriya, wins, getting second place.

"Woah, you're already here?" He looks at me, his eyes glistening with tears. I nod, standing up completely.

"That was a good move, Midoriya. Todoroki and Bakugo were definitely not expecting that."

"Oh, thanks!" He beams at me, clearly proud of himself. And honestly, he should be.

Once everyone makes it to the end Midnight explains that only 42 contestants are moving on.

"Let's see what we have in store for you next! Will your wildest fantasies come to life? What could it be? The waiting is torture!" She's trying way too hard. Finally, the wheel stops on Cavalry Battle. Midnight explains the rules briefly, then the point system.

"And first place gets... TEN MILLION POINTS!" I smirk as everyone whips around and stares at me like I'm fresh meat and they're starving wolves.

This is going to be fun.

I don't know how well I explained this, but Takusan is literally faster than light. He finished the obstacle course in less than a second.

Just thought I'd make that clear XD.
