"Just a Cat Playing With His Prey Before the Kill"

Shiozaki and I walk out onto the arena at the same time, ready for the battle to start.

"HERE WE HAVE IBARA SHIOZAKI OF CLASS 1-B AND TAKUSAN KYARAKUTA OF CLASS 1-A! WHO WILL WIN IN THIS INTENSE BATTLE?"

I'm not really in the mood to fight right now. I study her closely, noticing quickly that her hair is made of vines. That can easily be used against her.

"BEGIN!"

"Nature," I'm glad I trained this quirk. It's going to make this fight a lot easier for me. She closes her eyes, stretching her hair toward me. I use nature to stop them, picking her up by the hair and floating her across the arena. She flails in vain, ready to fight when I sit her down. Too bad for her, she's out of bounds.

"KYARAKUTA MOVES ON! WHO KNEW HE COULD DO THAT?"

Shiozaki's shoulders slump as she realized how easily she was defeated. She does have potential though. Her quirk is quite strong, and she probably would've won against anyone else. Well, too bad for her.

An hour or so later it's time for my next match. I'm going up against Todoroki, who is easily one of the top students in the class. The only thing I have to really worry about is how strong his quirk is. He's one of my only classmates that I haven't been able to copy yet. If I can just get him out of bounds before he activates his quirk, I'll be fine.

"NEXT UP IS THE AMAZING TODOROKI, WHO SHOWED SOME REAL POWER IN HIS LAST MATCH! VERSUUUSSSS... TAKUSAN KYARAKUTA! THE BOY WITH WAAAYYY TOO MANY POWERSSS!!! WHO WILL WIN IN THIS CRRRRAAAAAZY MATCHUP?"

The crowd's cheers grow to a thundering roar, one that can probably be heard on the other side of Japan.

"BBBEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!"

The second the match starts I call Speedy, but Todoroki attacks just as fast. Speedy manages to hold onto the light long enough to get me out of the way, but I'm forced to take over again once I copy Todoroki's quirk. He's just as strong as Eraserhead, Midoriya, maybe even All Might. His quirk is amazing, and he wants nothing but to be the top hero- without his dad. I breathe heavily, trying to keep his quirk in me. I can't let it take over. If I do, who knows what will happen.

I fall to my knees, screaming in pain. I have to keep him down. I can't let him take over, I can't!

OMNISCIENT POV

"WHAT'S THIS? KYARAKUTA IS ON THE GROUND IN PAIN, AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET! COULD TODOROKI WIN THAT EASILY?"

Takusan's fingers grip his skull as if doing so will keep him in the light. Suddenly his struggles stop, and when he looks up again; his right eye is white; his left red. He smirks evilly, lighting a fire on his left side. Todoroki attacks again, blasting ice at Takusan to push him out of bounds. Takusan counterattacks with even more ice, easily pushing Todoroki's attack back. Todoroki uses ice to keep him from falling out of bounds, pushing himself back to his feet.

"WHHHAAAAAAATTTT?!?!?!? KYARAKUTA COPIED TODOROKI'S QUIRK! AND NOW HE'S JUST AS POWERFUL- IF NOT MORE SO!"

The crowd somehow screams louder, the intensity of the battle driving them.

"You can't beat me, Todoroki."

"Why would you think that?"

"Because I know you."

Todoroki makes another ice attack, using the attack as cover to run up on Takusan. Takusan chuckles, using his own ice to destroy Todoroki's. He then blasts fire at Todoroki, blocking his attack. Todoroki responds quickly, using his own fire to force Takusan's back. He can't let up; if he does he'll be burned alive. Takusan keeps his fire going strong, but Todoroki's is weakening. He has to put more effort into the flames than he's used to. While he's distracted, Takusan uses his ice, blasting it at Todoroki.

Todoroki is hit hard with ice that encases him in a prison. He melts the ice with ease, jumping out. He narrows his eyes when Takusan doesn't immediately attack but instead stands at a distance.

"You're toying with me, aren't you?"

"I'm just a cat playing with its prey before the kill."

"What does that even mean?" Todoroki and Takusan start pacing around each other in a small circle, glaring at each other with rage.

"Look at you, using your flames. I'm sure your dad is so proud." Todoroki quickly stops his fire, as if he had forgotten it was burning on his arm.

"How did you..."

"And how's your mom? Still in the hospital?"

"Don't you dare bring her into this." Todoroki snarls, lighting up his flames again.

"Or what? Are you going to pour boiling water on my face?" Todoroki snaps, lunging at Takusan in pure rage, blasting his fire at Takusan. Takusan smirks, putting his hands next to each other and blasting fire and ice at the same time. They combine, creating a very powerful jet of water that pushes Todoroki back multiple yards before he stops himself with his ice.

"WWOOOAAAAHHHH! DID TODOROKI KNOW HE COULD DO THAT WITH HIS QUIRK?" Todoroki coughs as he tries to catch his breath, spitting out a mouth full of water. He wipes his hand across his mouth, narrowing his eyes angrily.

"How do you know these things, anyway?"

"I told you. I know you." The pair start pacing again, Takusan with his hand behind his back. He forms a pointed icicle and pushes it up his sleeve.

"Because you're me?"

"Precisely."

"Don't be ridiculous." They stop pacing, staring at each other with hate.

"You're right. There should only be one Shoto Todoroki. And you're not going to be him."

"What?" Takusan lunges at Todoroki, landing on top of him. They scuffle on the ground for a few seconds, Takusan straddling Todoroki's stomach and punching while Todoroki blocks. Takusan keeps punching but allows the ice to slide back down to his hand. He stabs Todoroki in the side, pushing the ice as deep as it will go. Todoroki's eyes widen in pain, his mouth gaps in surprise. Takusan leans in, whispering into Todoroki's ear so no one can hear.

"Ice, the perfect murder weapon. It melts on its own, and no evidence will be left behind."

Takusan gets off Todoroki, watching as the boy gets on his knees to cough up blood.

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" Todoroki falls onto his side, crawling to get away from Takusan. Takusan laughs, kicking him in the stab wound. Todoroki yells in pain but doesn't stop crawling for his life.

"Takusan, stand down. You don't want to kill him." Midnight says, preparing to stop the fight.

"Oh, but I do." Takusan gets one more kick in before Midnight rushes in, putting both boys to sleep with her quirk.
