Joshua Hong - The New Resident

Exams are finally over!

Hooray!!

But school isn't over until 2 years later, ughh.

And by next year, I have to decide on my field already or I can't choose my major.

I was currently in my dorm room, on the bed and using my laptop.

Eun Seok had to go back to Daegu for family emergencies.

I'm all alone and I'm so lonely.

Just then, a knock was heard on the door.

"Who is it?!" I ask.

"It's me, Jiu"

I immediately got up and head to the door and I let Jiu sunbae in.

"Sunbae, what brings you here?" I ask.

"It's Mrs Nam, she wants to know whether or not you have decided on your field of doctor's work.

You're going to be a 3rd year Resident soon and you need to start choosing your major.

I mean, that includes the other students who haven't decided yet but I decided to approach you first.

Within the two years you were here at SMA, I am aware that you have changed your major because you haven't decided yet.

At 3rd year, you're no longer allowed to change your major, so Ro Eun, have you decided?" Jiu sunbae ask.

"Honestly Jiu sunbae, I'm a little lost. I want to be a doctor but, I really can't decide.

In my 1st year, I had taken Psychological Studies and Dental Orientation as my majors.

And then this year I took General Biology and Pediatric Studies, I don't know what to choose" I said.

"Hmm, what are you really interested in? I've heard from Ms Kim that you tend to faint at the sight of... Organs" says Jiu sunbae.

"Well... They sort of gross me out... Maybe I'm not fit to be a doctor" I said.

"Don't say that! Everyone who studies at SMA deserves to be a doctor! Hmm, maybe Surgeon is not the one for you.

I'd suggest you drop out of General Biology next year" Jiu sunbae suggested.

"Alright... I think I'll drop out of Dental Orientation as well since, no matter how much I had studied, I couldn't understand.

As for Pediatric Studies, I'm really a careless and sometimes clumsy person, I'm worried that babies might cry because of me.

That leaves Psychological Studies. Honestly, that got me a little interested since it makes me want to understand people.

If I understand people, I might be able to help them" I said.

"If you want to choose Psychological Studies as your major, it means you're willing to become a Psychiatrist" says Jiu sunbae.

"Psychiatrist... Okay Jiu sunbae, I think I know what I want to be! I'll be a Psychiatrist!

I'll study hard and understand people and do my best to help them! Thanks for today Jiu sunbae!" I exclaim with a smile.

"I'm glad I could help, now, I'll go to see the other students. Oh and here, Mrs Nam wants you to fill in this form" says Jiu sunbae.

"Understood sunbae" I said.

"I'll get going now, oh and when would Eun Seok be back?" Jiu sunbae ask.

"I'm not sure, she says she has family emergency back in Daegu" I said.

"Hmm, alright then, see you around Ro Eun ah!" Says Jiu sunbae and she left.

I grinned and immediately started texting Joshua.

Hey! I've decided on what I want to be!

Moments later, Joshua texted back.

Jinjja? I'm proud! What do you want to be?

To: Josh-ie
Psychiatrist! I'm taking up Psychological Studies again!

That's great! I'm proud of you! Hey, since today is a no school day, you want to hang out?

To: Josh-ie
You're taking me out on a date! That's sweet! Sure thing! Let's meet at the front gate in about 30 minutes!

No problem and dress nice 😉

I blushed and began changing into a nice outfit.

After about 15 minutes, I made my way to the gate and soon, Joshua came and we headed out.
