Michael's thoughts
I watch as Samantha drives off and I feel a fear rise within me. The way Jenna appeared out of nowhere, attacking her is still fresh in my mind. Could it be possible? Does she love me?
I walked back from the front door holding my breath. Seeing her now, she is trying so hard to calm down and I can't help but hold my arms open for her.
She looks wild and pissed off but as soon as she is in my arms, I run circles with my hand on her back, I feel her breathing slowing down.
"I'm sorry. I saw her touching you and then I...." she stutters. She shouldn't be apologizing, Samantha was out of line. Granted, the situation could have been handled better but then again, this is Jenna. Crazy ass woman.
I'm half expecting her to be fuming, screaming at me at least but no, she has calmed down. It seems like I have an effect on her.
Wrapped in my arms, I don't exactly know what to do.
"I'm sorry about what happened. I didn't know she was coming here." I say to her softly into her hair in the hopes that she will understand. It's the only thing I can think of to say.
I cup her face in my hands and kiss her full on the lips. She is kissing me back but it does not feel the same as before. Something has changed.
"We need to talk Michael." she says to me and immediately I am anxious. Something has definitely changed, I can feel it.
"I did not know that she was coming here." I repeat my words.
"I believe you." she replies smiling up at me.
She is still in my arms and I can't, no, I don't want to let go. I'm too afraid of what could possibly happen.
She pulls away from me and the loss of her in my arms weighs heavily on me. I follow her to the kitchen, watching her every sway. I can't read the situation but she still looks pissed off, I think.
"Are you hungry?" I ask her and she nods. I fix her a plate while she makes a cup of tea for both her and I.
"My favourite" she smiles, shovelling a fork full of pasta Alfredo into her mouth. Her mood swings is still such a mystery to me.
I watch her in silence as she eats. She has not met my gaze once since we moved to the kitchen as she normally would do when eating. Her eyes are fixed to either the counter or her plate.
"I didn't know she was coming here Jenna." I wish that she would just talk to me, scream at me if she has to. She just has to do something.
"I heard you the first time. Sit down." she snaps. Just like her mood swings, her temper is something I'm not entirely sure I will get use to.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you." She sighs, her shoulders relaxing. I want to rub them but I think that she needs to get her frustrations out first.
"Tell me what happened today. From the time I left you this morning. Tell me your every move and give me details." she commands. What would it help if I told her of my very boring day.
"Why?"
"Something doesn't feel right." She is still not looking at me.
"Okay. I had a board meeting this morning as I told you."
"Who was on the board?" I feel like I'm being interrogated in a police station. I have the honour of meeting the bad cop first.
I tell her but when I mention that Samantha's father is a board member, her head snaps up.
