Run.

Run.

Run!

RUN!

I willed myself to move. Fast. Huffing and puffing, my lungs shrinking and my ribs aching. It hurt so bad. Had my eyes deceived me? No. I know what I saw and I know who I saw.

Pain filled my legs, begging me to stop running. Tears threatened to escape my eyes. I took in sharp breathes and kept moving.

They'll find me.

I ran into the woods. Dodging trees. Jumping over bushes. Ducking under branches. I was out of breath and I held onto my side from the stitches forming. I was not dressed for this. My flats kept sliding off and my leather skirt prevented me from running properly.

Covered by leaves, I tripped over a rock and landed on my side. I gave out a little cry but instantly covered my mouth. Be quiet. I fought back my tears. The leaves rustled from the force of the wind, I could hear the heavy footsteps of the two beings. Groaning, I pushed myself up. Nothing to fear Lana, nothing to fear, I thought, trying to calm my anxious and terrifying thoughts. I stood up tall and faced them both. They were hidden in the shadows.

"I thought you were my friend." I spat.

My body shot up from the nightmare. My eyes wide in horror and my breathing shallow. My heart raced 100 miles an hour. It was so vivid like I was reliving that night again.

What had I seen? Who were they?

I dropped my head back against the pillow and rubbed my eyes. This was the worst one.

The note said not to trust anyone...not even myself. I wanted to trust Daniel, I wanted to tell him. He told me he still loved me, was he telling the truth? Grunting, I turned over and eyed the time on my phone. 4:31 am. I wasn't going to get back to sleep any time soon so I got up and headed for a shower. I gently applied the cream to my scar with the tips of my fingers and then brushed my hair. I got dressed and fixed my bed.

Sammy's door was ajar so I peaked in; he had his back turned. I shut the door slowly and as quietly as possible. I went down to the kitchen and made myself some coffee. The sun hadn't risen yet so the house remained in darkness with shadows from the trees entering through the windows.

With the mug in hand, I went to sit comfortably on the couch. Daniel said he loved me. I thought deeply about his words. How they stirred inside me, melting me to the core. His deep voice struck my heart like lightning. Did I love him back? I could feel it deep within me. The old love. The love the old Lana had. She did love him but did I? I didn't even know if I could trust him, how could I love without trust? My head began to ache from all the thinking and questions. It was all so complicated. I felt something for Daniel, something deep inside me was bursting to come out but I suppressed it.

Sammy and I went to school and like usual he dropped me off first. Immediately I spotted Sapphire amongst a large crowd of the 'popular kids'. I joined her with a fake smile plastered on my face. She swung her arms around me and suffocated the oxygen out of my lungs. Tight enough to kill me.

"What's going on?" I asked as I eyed up the crowd.

"Talking about my amazing party~" she sang, "it's going to be the biggest thing ever!" Alice appeared beside me.

"She hasn't stopped talking about it." She rolled her eyes and winked at me. Out of the blue, Sapphire looked down and fidgeted with her fingers. Alice sent me a 'what's gotten into her?' look and I shrugged just as confused.
