~Niclas Gillis as Daniel~

"I thought you said you would never talk to me again."

I was speechless. I didn't know how to respond, I wasn't prepared for this. Like an idiot, I stayed silent, not knowing what to say or ask.

"Lana, if this is one of your sick and twisted games, I want no part in it anymore." I could hear the annoyance and rage in his tone.

"Liam, I-" He hung up. It took me a second to realise what happened before tearing the phone away from my ear. I looked down at the blank screen, confused. What was that about?

"Who is Liam?" The phone slipped from my fingers as I jumped from the sudden voice in the room. Daniel was stood by the doorway, his arms crossed in front of his chest. His eyes were dark and his jaw twitched, I could practically see the smoke radiating off his body.

"No one." I quickly responded as I picked my phone up from the floor. I was glad I hadn't brushed my hair, the out of control and frizzed hair hid my panicked expression.

"Doesn't seem like it was no one." He sent me a questioning look. My hands began to sweat and a lump formed in my throat. I didn't want to say the wrong thing but I also didn't know myself who Liam was.

"I didn't know who it was." I prayed he wouldn't ask further questions but boy was I wrong. He stepped into the room, seeming more suspicious than before.

"You said his name?" He countered, his eyes furrowed and a vein on his neck bulging out.

"He rang me and said his name was Liam, I was just about to tell him I didn't know who that was when he hung up on me." I quickly said, not taking in a single breath. His eyes softened and his arms relaxed to his sides. His fingers brushed against the bracelet on my wrist before intertwining with my fingers. He rested his forehead on mine and took in a shaky breath.

"I have so many regrets." I wasn't expecting that, tonight was full of the unpredictable.

"What do you mean?" I pulled back slightly and looked up through my long lashes. His hand tightened around mine.

"Letting you be so reckless and stupid." He joked but I could tell there was something deeper to this. He was hiding his pain, his remorse. "I should have stopped you, on so many occasions. When you started dating Max, when you became someone I didn't recognise anymore. Maybe if I was there for you more I could have prevented the accident." With my free hand, I raised my index finger to his soft lips, hushing him.

"Don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault." He squeezed his eyes shut, something was holding him back. He wanted to speak, to open up but he couldn't. I patiently waited, he needed time and if he wasn't ready now he would be eventually.

"It's happening again and this time I'm the one that pushed you to do it." He was scared for me, worried the past would repeat itself. I lowered my finger and searched his lost eyes.

"It needs to be done but this time it's different. This time you are right beside me every step of the way, nothing will happen to me as long as you're here." The corners of his lips lifted up into the sweetest smile a girl could witness. I melted into him, he knew the effect he had on me. I couldn't tear my eyes away from his or even blink, they were hypnotizing and seductive.

"Don't do that," I breathed out breathless. He snaked his hand out of mine and slid it up my back.

"Do what?" He lowered his head so his lips were a mere inch away.
