I watched the herd of students around me, pushing past one another, in their own little world. I obediently waited and stayed put where Sammy left me. Minutes felt like hours and I became anxious, I fidgeted with my fingers and scanned the crowd in hopes of finding a familiar face.

I was greeted with a shriek which made me jump out of my skin. I turned my head to the source of the voice and was greeted with an angel. Her complexion was pale and clear, her hair golden blonde and curly, eyes cold blue. She was beautiful. She wore tight-fitting clothes, a skirt that may as well have been underwear, black heeled boots and a tight tank top that revealed her cleavage. She jumped onto me and suffocated me with her hug. I fought for air as I tried to push her off.

"Girl, where have you been!? Why didn't you answer the phone? I've been calling since this morning!" She blasted me with a million questions about my whereabouts and I tried to keep up. Her voice was high pitched and quite annoying. Was this the person I was meant to be meeting? She saw my puzzled look and frowned. "What's up with you? Too hungover?" She smirked and playfully nudged me with her elbow but it just confused me even more.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" I asked, for a second she just stared blankly back but then erupted into laughter.

"Don't make me laugh Lana." Her laugh was so loud everyone turned their heads and watched. I gave a nervous laugh and looked around for help. Was she crazy? She stopped laughing and stared me dead in the eye.

"Soooo, you and Max huh?" She winked, waiting for details that I couldn't give her. Instead, I had more questions than answers. Who was Max? And what about Max and I? Just as I was about to ask another unfamiliar face appeared.

"Hello Lana, I'm Sidil and I'll be taking you to the office and showing you around." Her hair was like a bird's nest, messy and tied up as if she slept with her hair like that and couldn't be bothered to brush it in the morning. She wore glasses and had a thick cardigan on like an old lady. How was she not boiling in this weather? I greeted her back and the other girl next to us watched with her jaw ajar.

"You can't be serious?" She muttered as she watched back and forth, waiting for something to happen. Sidil explained the situation to her, keeping it short and simple. "It doesn't make any sense, you were fine the other day." Her expression was both pained and worried.

"It would help her a lot if you were the one to show her around Sapphire, after all, she is your best friend," Sidil said cheerfully. Her name was Sapphire and she was my best friend? I eyed her up and down but nothing clicked, I had no idea who she was or how we knew one another. Sapphire nodded, she took in all the information and then asked.

"So what happened?" I knew this question would pop up at some point.

"Doctor said I fell and hit my head on a rock, he said it's only temporary." I quickly answered back as if I had been practising this answer all morning, knowing I would be drilled with questions. For a second she was still, unblinking as if she were in deep thought. Then as if someone flipped a switch she started jumping on me again.

"Don't worry Lana, I'll help you and tell you everything you need to know!" I stared back in horror and took a step back from the wild animal.

"Let's not traumatise the girl," Sidil grabbed Sapphire by the shoulders and pulled her off me. "This is her schedule, you can show her around to her classes." Sapphire stared down at the sheet of paper and then squealed with joy.

"We've got the same classes!" She handed me the sheet which I then put in my bag.

"I'll take you to the head now Lana." I nodded and started to follow, only to have Sapphire by my side watching me as if I was some sort of zoo animal.
