Civil up top.

-------------------
Elliot Park's considered himself a simple guy.

Although, his life was a tad fucked up and complicated, he was mostly well off considering. Considering the fact that his parents were back crap crazy, and he practically raised his own siblings, Elliot pretty much had to do everything himself. He learned how to fight for himself and his sister, since she was also fighting the same battle he was, just her memories weren't as clear as Elliot's were. However, he didn't smoke, only drank at parties, didn't have a baby or lived on the streets, and had plenty of money from his father- he had it easy. He was well tempered, smart, and courageous, everything his parents were not; that's what he wanted to believe.

That was what he wanted to believe, even when it wasn't all that truthful.

There were many times in his life where he felt down right awful for the things he had done. He had hurt a lot of people, some on purpose some not, but he ended up regretting all of the decisions he made. One time in football, he made an impulse decision that got his fellow player tackled incorrectly, shattering his collar bone and arm, ruining his scholarship chances. There were times when he swore he liked a girl, and ended up bailing when he realized he wasn't actually into her, if that be after a few days or months of being with them. Yes, he often wished he was a better man.

Elliot did not grow up with a role model to look up too, his dad ran off with his trophy wife and his mom was a druggie who slept with a different guy each month. She was a bigger partier than Elliot was, and he didn't have kids to look after when he came back drunk. His father was no better, he was often away traveling with his rebound, while leaving his kids to fend for themselves, not that he did them any good when he was around. There were an abundance of things Elliot wished he could forget about the man, but he wasn't young enough to forget the things he had done to them.

His younger brother Gabe had it worse off, only being his half brother that started the long, painful road that lead to their divorce. Gabe was sent between their houses, and even though he was not related to Elliot's mother by blood, she fought for Gabe like he was hers. That was the only honourable thing about her, that even though her husband had an affair, she loved Gabe to the best of her abilities. Along side Gabe was the Nanny who used to care for Elliot and Poppy whenever their father would leave, until they were old enough to watch themselves. The nanny was one of the nicest people Elliot had met, and he was mostly positive that she was Gabe's biological mother. To this day, he truly didn't know what had happened, only that a baby showed up and was claimed to be his fathers.

If a baby wasn't enough, his father still cheated while they fought over Gabe, who was only an innocent child wrapped up in a horrible mistake. The nanny was fired, only to be re-hired by his father, and she was only allowed restricted visiting rights for Gabe, such as escorting him between the houses and caring for the needs of Elliot's father. In the end of the court battles, his father had won parental rights over Gabe, and got most of his money in the process. Although, his mother won a fair bit of money, his father was a very successful lawyer, and the money loss meant nothing to him. Currently, Gabe had been living with Elliot's father more often, since their father was a busy man and traveled quiet often for his clients.

This meant that Elliot and Poppy were almost always alone, aside from rare visits from their father. He had complete freedom, and with his car, he had nothing holding him back. The Nanny would come by every so often to restock the fridge, clean, and bring Gabe by for a visit. Ever since she was not granted visiting rights by her own accord, she simply followed their fathers ruled like an obedient dog. It was shameful, but Elliot tried not to think about it. The only person Elliot worried about was Poppy, since she was the one who kept him in line if he started to drift to far.
