Chapter 23

When Louis and I pulled up to the complex he decided it was best for us to park in the garage instead of on the street. He didn’t want us to be bombarded b paparazzi, especially since we had Cole with us.

We got out of the car and Louis grabbed a few things while I took Cole out of the back seat. He was still awake, but I could tell he was getting cranky. He usually falls asleep in the car, but this had been his longest car ride and he hadn’t closed his eyes once. I picked him up as he wrapped his little arms around my neck and his feet around my stomach.

When we made it upstairs I walked into the flat, Louis had given me a key earlier. He figured that if I am out this weekend and I need to get in then he doesn’t have to be there. Also it was a way of him telling me that I was welcome any time.

 Louis trailed in behind me with some of the luggage, but he was gonna have to make a second trip because we both had a lot of stuff. I had offered to help but he told me he could get it, something about wanting to have some dignity.

While Louis left to go back down to the car I walked into the guest room and placed some of my bags in the closet. Cole was standing next to me and tugging on my pants. I looked down and at him and he stared back at me with his tiny blue eyes. “Mommy, I hungy” he said.

I grabbed his hand and led him to the kitchen. As I was looking through the cabinets I heard the door open again. “Lou! You and Harry must starve you have absolutely no food” I yelled out

I heard a laugh, but it defiantly was not Louis. “Not Lou, only Niall. And don’t worry I have plenty of food” he said walking into the kitchen.

I smiled and said “Hey Niall. I didn’t know you were home.”

When he was responding I realized he wasn’t looking at me. He was looking at the child that was hugging my leg.

I picked Cole up just as Louis was walking in the door.

“Ah my little Irish man! What brings you to my humble abode?”

Niall laughed and said “oh well some people dropped off a bunch of packages for you the other day, I put them in my apartment because no one else was here”

“Ahh yes! my orders are here! Its like Christmas.” Louis exclaimed he then said “Well don’t just stand there you leprechaun, lets bring ‘em all in”

Louis then ran out the door and across the hall to Niall’s apartment. Within minutes they both returned pushing boxes into the foyer. “Louis what on earth did you get? This is so much” I said when I saw everything come in.

“Yeah Louis, do you have an online shopping problem or something? We can get you help man” Niall joked

Louis pretended to laugh and then said “Its not for me! do I look like I shop at toys r us?”

Niall and I both stared at him giving him a knowing look.

“Okay okay!  I admit I have done a fair amount of shopping there, but no this is not for me. Its for Cole” He said as he started tarring open the boxes.

I could see Niall had a look on his face. He looked around and then brought his attention back to Louis who was talking to him.

“Mind lending a hand mate? Louis asked him.

Niall agreed but not before looking back at me as I walked with Cole to get my phone that was ringing.

I closed the door to the guest room and answered my phone. “Hello” I said as I tucked the phone between my shoulder and my ear.

“Hey girl! I’m done class now!” I heard Teegan say

I dug through Cole’s diaper bag and found a juice cup and some cookies for him. “Great, I’m at Louis’s now”
