I knew that the call had to come. It had been 2 years since this whole fight started. Why couldn’t we just put the past behind us and stop walking around eggshells around each other? We were so close but now we were so far. With trembling hands I picked up the phone and dialed his number.

Ring….Ring….Ring…

He didn’t pick up, he never did. So I left a message, trying to get it all off my chest.

“Hey, I really need to talk to you but I know you probably don’t want to talk to me. I can’t stand it anymore. I need you. I need you really badly and I need for us to work this out. We use to be so close and now its like we don’t even know each other. You were right okay. Are you happy? I finally said it. You told me that I would need you and guess what? I do! I’m sorry it took so long for me to realize it but I have and I’m sorry. Please just call me back.”

I put the phone down on the kitchen table and wiped away my tears. I walked down the hall and went into my room .Laying on my bed I thought about it and knew that I needed to see him. If he wasn’t gonna call me back I needed to go see him in person.

It was 3:30 when I got a few bags packed. When my phone rang, hoping it was him I ran over to it and answered the call.

“Hey sweetie” I heard from the other side

“Hi mom”  I sighed

“Did you talk to him yet? How did it go?”

“No, he didn’t answer, but listen I think the best way to talk to him is to go see him-”

She cut me off saying “Leah”

“Mom, I have to. Can you take care of everything for a day or two? Please?”

When I hung up with my mom she had agreed to let me go see him for the weekend. I didn’t have classes until Tuesday and I didn’t have to worry about any plans this weekend. So I packed up my car and headed out ofDoncasterat 4.

. . . . .

A few hours later I had finally arrived inLondon. I knew he would be at the studio today, he tweeted it. So when I parked my car on the street I walked up to the complex. And saw the door man. I showed him some ID and he allowed me through the doors. When I got to his flat I took out the key I had taken from home. Unlocking the door and flickering on the first light I noticed the mess inside. Clothes, boxers, pizza boxes, and more were scattered throughout the flat.

As I walked in more I began to pace. Scared of how he might react when he sees me. “What if this isn’t the right thing?” I thought to myself. Trying to calm myself down I sat in the living room on the couch and waited.

It was only a half hour later that I heard noises outside the door. My heart was beating a mile a minute as I heard the key go into the lock. I stood up from the couch and leaned against the wall leading to the hallway.

“Harry? Are you home?” he questioned.

It was him. I recognized that voice anywhere. I started walking towards the kitchen.

“Lou” I called out before walking fully into the room.

“Leah?” he asked in a shocked voice. I couldn’t tell if he was happy or if he was mad.

I turned the corner and was now facing him. I could feel the water starting to build up in my eyes. Pushing them back I took a good look at him. He looked the same, in his beanie and stripped shirt and his favorite TOMs. The look on his face didn’t give me the same comfort as his casual outfit. He wasn’t smiling like he usually does. He looked lost and confused.

“What are you doing here?” he asked quietly

“The doorman let me in. Did you get my message?”

“No, I left my phone here. Why are you here? Is everything okay? Did something happen?” he was now starting to worry.

With tears starting to come down my face I got closer to him and hugged him. I was surprised when he put his arm around me and starting rubbing my back.

“I’m so sorry! I’m so sorry! Louis you were right. I can’t do it on my own anymore” I cried.

He pulled back and wiped away my tears. “Ill be right back. Just take a seat at the kitchen table, okay?” At least he didn’t sound mad, I thought to myself as he left the room.

He returned back with a water bottle and his phone.

Silence. Neither of us knew what to say.

“Thank you” I said as I removed the water bottle from my lips.

“You’re welcome. That’s what big brothers are for right?” he said with a smile and a small laugh.

“By 6 minutes!  You still hold that over my head”

We were laughing for a few minutes. Thinking of all the times he has teased me for being younger. He was smiling. A real smile. He hadn’t smiled at me like that in a long time. I was use to his fake, forced smiles that he put on around me.

“I listened to your message. I think we need to talk” he said snapping me out of my thoughts.
