It felt like a dream. I was sitting in one of my classes back at university , and my mind was captivated by the memories of this weekend. Zayn had texted me last night to make sure I drove safely and he texted me this morning. “4” was all it said. 4 more days until I could see him again. Every time I thought about it I got butterflies in my stomach.

I could hardly focus on what my professor was saying. When class was dismissed I gathered my things and walked to the library, killing time before my next class. My mind was somewhere else that I didn’t even realize my surroundings or that fact that my phone was ringing.

Looking down at my phone I realized I had missed the call. Dialing the number right back, I heard the familiar voice echo through the other side.

“Ignoring me already?” he said

“Good morning to you too” I responded

He let out a little laugh and said good morning. “I didn’t catch you at a bad time right? I think you said this is when you would be free” he said a little nervously

“Nope, this is perfect. I’m just trying to kill some time before my next class”

“Well perfect, how has your morning been?” he asked

I took my phone and tucked it between my shoulder and ear as I took a seat at an empty table. “Good, but not as good as last night”

He chuckled “Can’t say I disagree”

“What are your plans for the week?” I asked as I got out my laptop

He was silent for a moment then said “Well we have to go a few interviews later today, then tomorrow we have a photo shoot and a few more interview for radio stations. Then we have a performance on TV on Wednesday, I think. Thursday we are going to the studio for some last minute recordings of some different versions of songs, then we are off for the weekend, as far as I know.”

“So basically you’re free all week” I said laughing.

He laughed before sarcastically saying “Yeah, bored out of my mind, nothing to keep me busy over here”

We talked for a few more minutes before he told me he had to go to a quick meeting with their manager and team before they did their interviews.

I was trying to study for one of my tests that I had this week, when the doorbell rang.

My mom was downstairs with Cole, who I had just picked up from daycare, and I heard her answering the door.

“LEEE! Door is for you” I heard her yell.

I closed my book and ran down the stairs to see Stan standing in the foyer. My mom gave me a hopeful smile as she went back into the den.

“Hey” he said

“What are you doing here?” I asked flatly

“I was thinking that maybe we could talk a little bit”

I gestured him to follow me as I went back up the stairs towards my room.

I took a seat on my bed and pulled out a chair for Stan. “So” I said when he finally sat down and was facing me

He cleared his throat and looked up at me. “I know I said I would wait for you to trust me and everything but I wanted to talk to you”

I nodded my head for him to continue.

“How would you feel if I start helping out more. Maybe I could take Cole like one day a week when you are at school. That way the daycare cost won’t add up as much”
