Nora slept soundly that night. She managed to have a quick catch up with Lily before it hit curfew, informing her of what happened in Dumbledore's office. Despite the weird start to the school year, Nora was so exhausted that she was out like a light.
"Nora, Nora!" A muffled noise drifted into her sleepy subconscious, a light hand gently shaking her. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw the face of her other dorm buddy, Poppy Ansel, looking down at her with concern and worry.
"Morning?" Nora yawned, rubbing her eyes.
"Nora, it's nearly 9 o'clock! You're gonna be late! You over slept!" She gasped. Nora's eyes bulged, looking at her watch on her bedside to see she had 20 minutes to get dressed, eat breakfast, grab her timetable and make it to her first class.
"MERLINS FUCKING ARSE CRACK." She screeched, falling out of bed and used her wand to get dressed as fast as magically possible! Shoving her messy hair up into a ponytail, she ran out of her room with one shoe on, struggling to do up her tie and with a half untucked shirt.
With 15 minutes to go, she made it to the entrance of the Great Hall looking like she had rolled around in a washing machine. With a few giggles and snickers here and there, Nora panicked on what to do. She spotted Lily and raced over, although her pace slowed a little when she saw the four Marauders ready to bombard her. Her siblings caught sight of her also and covered their faces. Their sister was always the clumsy one out of the four of them.
"Lily!" She cried, still struggling to fix her Hufflepuff tie.
"Nora! What happened!" She gasped, jumping up and gently slapped her hands away to help her do her tie.
"A night with me and that's what it looks like when you're done." Sirius grinned, taking a bit of toast. James and Peter snorted where as Remus blushed, looking back at his newspaper, snickering behind it.
"Shove it up your arse, you perv or I'll break your arm!" Nora growled, thankful that Lily was her barrier
"Evans, control your friend will you!" James burst out laughing again.
"Shut it Potter before I break your arm." Lily's disapproving glare was one you wish you could never experience for the 2nd time, let alone the 1st. The boys hushed up and carried out their own conversation once more.
"I over slept! I was drained from yesterday... I'm starving, I haven't even got my timetable.. SHIT what's my first class?!" Nora rambled quickly and panic stricken, a tear threatening to spill. Sirius smirked to himself as he pretended to listen to James when in fact he was internally chuckling at Nora's swearing. 'Bad princess' he thought to himself.
"Okay, now take a breath. Sit down and finish my breakfast, I'll pop over to McGonagall, grab your timetable and double check your class. I'm positive it's Transfiguration with us. Stay put!" Lily sat her down and sprinted away.
Taking a breath as instructed, Nora closed her eyes and relaxed as best she could; how could she with Potter and Black staring at her. The sound of liquid being pour caught her attention, her eyes flashing open. She relaxed again as it was only Remus pouring her a glass of juice
"Thank you Remus! How was your summer by the way?" she picked up the glass, took a sip before taking a left over corner from a piece of toast on Lily's plate and snatched another piece out of Sirius' hand, not allowing him to have the rest. He looked at her gobsmacked but she continued to ignore him. Realising who she took the toast from, she screwed up her face and threw it back at him, smacking his cheek and smeared peanut butter down his stubble, earning another joyous chuckle from Peter beside her. She smiled at that.
"It was pleasant thank you! Quiet for once! And yourself?" Remus grinned, laying his newspaper down. He always enjoyed Nora's pleasant company purely as she would piss Sirius off as much as he did to her. It was amusing for him.
"It's never peaceful! Yet another loud summer what with us moving. At least I got to hide out in a forest I found near our new house! Plenty of room to explore!" She munched her Lily toast happily. Just as Sirius was about to intervene, with something snarky or inappropriate no doubt, Lily came back with Nora's papers and a cheerful smile.
"It's surely illegal to look this good!" James muttered aloud dramatically, flopping his head on the table as he fawned up to the red head girl. A tiny blush crept up but she held herself together.
"Shush. Anyway - Yes it's Transfiguration!" Lily sat down again and filled up some more juice for herself.
With 10 minutes to spare before lesson, Nora was grateful to have such a kind hearted best friend.

"You better run!" Her banshee screeched echoed in the courtyard. It was only the 1st day back and Nora was disappointed that Deanna had only managed to keep her cool for just under 24 hours. She knew that screech anywhere! Nora looked up from the fountain. She liked to sit there with her Herbology magazines and dip her bare feet in the water some lunchtimes
The scene in front of her followed like so: her youngest sister stood at the steps of the castle, drenched in multi coloured custard whilst two quivering idiots known as Black and Potter stood at the bottom with their wands out and coloured dye on their hands.
Nora's eyes grew as she realised what happened when more Slytherin students started rushing outside with the same multi coloured custard slathered on them. They were going to die. Those boys had never been scared of anything... except Lily's angry face and Nora's little sister. Not even a dementor could scare them at this point.
Spotting Nora's shocked expression by the fountain, the boys sprinted to her, a scream escaping her plump lips. They lifted her out of the fountain, plopped her down and crouched behind her, using her as a human shield.
"ARE YOU TWO INSANE?!" Nora and Deanna shrieked.
"Little Lysander. Save us and I'll give you 20 galleons" James pulled her tighter to him.
"No! Face the music Potter! You're a dead man!"
"Woman! I swear to Merlin, please do it!" Sirius groaned, shoving his face into her shoulder blade, ignoring her persistent shrugging to get him off her. "I'll leave you alone for 2 weeks if you do!"
"Make it till we graduate and we have a deal!" Nora looked at her sister terrified as she bolted towards her.
"No can do!" Sirius tickled her hips, ignoring the she-devil that was coming for him as a sudden twang in his stomach tugged for a moment. He quickly shook it off and ignored it, not wanting to dwell on why it happened. Nora tried hard not to laugh, especially as it was Sirius tickling her, and swatted his hands away vigorously yet felt her cheeks increase in heat
"Move Nora! I'm going to rip them apart!" Deanna squared up to her sister, danger in her eyes.
"You think I want to stand here?! They're strong and have me pinned!! Calm down for a second Deedee." Nora pleaded. As a child, Nora would have to try and calm her sister down whenever she lost her temper. Let's just say it took a long time for her to calm down and a few sessions of anger management.
"Yeah Deedee, chill! It wasn't meant for you! Snivellous was our target but you walked in first before him. Sneaky git must have caught us beforehand!" James tried to explain. Deanna shrieked again but thankfully was stopped short.
"POTTER! BLACK!" The thunderous rumble of McGonagall's angry tone pierced through the courtyard like a missile, everyone turning silent.
