Scar's Pov.
The Alpha and I sit in silence for some time, till Mars and the healer finally return.
I want to bite the healer as she examines me, but I don't. It wouldn't be wise to bite her.
"Mars go find and bring me some elm bark." The healer says. What will elm bark do?
In a flash Mars is runnin away from us. I already miss him, it's weird.
The healer continues examining me, then she touches her nose to my stomach and then I snap.
With my tail I slap at her face, protecting my pups from her. The healer backs away from me and turns to speak to the Alpha.
"She's protective of her pups, that's good." The healer says. Well of course I'm protective of my pups. That's a no durh!
The rest of the time we all sit in silence as we wait for Mars to return. The moon slips behind some clouds and the whole forest is then surrounded by darkness.
It's so dark out, I didn't even notice Mars return till he was right in front of me.
"Eat the bark." The healer says with dominance. I don't like that she's tryin to be dominant over me.
But if eatin this will help the pain go away, I'll listen to her. I eye the bark that's laid at my feet warily, then I put in my mouth and chew it.
Uh, yuck. It tastes nasty. I quickly swallow the yucky elm bark. "It tastes good doesn't it?" Mars laughs.
I shake my head side to side vigorously, signaling to him that it did not taste good at all.
"Now Mars, take Scar back to your den. Tomorrow she will return to her pack and you will escort her there." Is all that Alpha says before he and the healer walk away.
"I'm going to carry you to my den, ok?" Mars asks while gettin ready to pick me up.
"Ok." I reply. Hey, sayin that didn't hurt! That bark must really be helping me.
I can feel myself gettin higher and higher as Mars picks me up. I watch the scenery as he carries me, or at least I try to.
It's so dark, I can hardly see anything at all. So I probably won't be able to find my way without somebody's help.
Narrator talking again.
It didn't take very long for the two wolves to arrive at Mars's den. He gently sets Scar down in front of his den.
"Whoa!" Scar says, her mouth open in awe as she stares at his den. It's a huge, hollow, fallen down tree.
"It really is something isn't it?" Mars grins at her. Scar just nods her head as she continues to stare in awe.
"Now if you think the outside is something, you gotta see the inside!" Mars says excitedly before nudging Scar into his den.
Scar looks around, but not in awe. The inside wasn't really cool, it was more, uhm how do I put it? Boring? Lame? Yes that's it, the inside is lame.
Looking at her, Mars can tell she doesn't find the inside of the tree cool, but he doesn't really mind.
"Now lay down, we don't want you getting hurt." Mars says. "That we do not want." Scar agrees with him as she lays down on the cold oak floor.
"So Scar, tell me about yourself. What was your childhood like?"
Scars sighs, her childhood was not a fun subject to talk about. "I wandered away from my pack when I was young, so I don't remember much about them. The only thing I remember is I had an older brother." Scar explains while trying to hide her sadness.
Mars looks Scar in the eyes as things start to click in his wolf brain. "You're Akeela, my little sister!"
Scar looks at Mars dumbfoundly, she has an alive brother? "I can't be Akeela, I don't remember ever being called Akeela." Scar's still in the denial stage.
"Well ya, cause you wandered off when you were too young to remember your name. I mean half the time when we called you Akeela you didn't reply." Mars laughs.
"True, but can you just call me Scar? I'm just too used to being called Scar to all of a sudden change names." After saying all that, Scar's still shocked that she wasn't in pain.
"Sorry but I'm calling you Akeela." Mars says while staring at the woody ceiling, trying to comprehend everything that was going through his mind.
