The female's Pov.

I have no dreams which is nice, nothing can cloud my judgement then. I wake up stretch my lean body.

Time for a little run. I stretch a bit more before going for a light jog, then a sprint, and finally a full run.

The wind in my fur brings me a happy feeling. Like nothing could ever go wrong, but we all now how wrong I am.

I slow down to a walk, my tongue lolling out of my mouth, that run was exhausting. So I head to the river for a cool refreshing drink.

As I lower my head to get a drink, I spot a shiny fish. I pounce, my head going underwater to grab the fish. Once I have the fish in my jaws, I drag the fish out.

I quickly crunch it's head in my toothy jaws and begin to eat it. Fish doesn't taste very good, but I'm too hungry to care about the fish's taste.

After eating the fish, I can still taste its awful slimyness. I take a drink from the lake, washing the slimy taste from my mouth.

As I take another drink, I look into the crystal clear water and see my reflection staring back at me. I take one last drink and my reflection blurs.

I walk away from the river and start hunting a rabbit. Not to kill it though, just hunting it for fun.

Once I get close enough to it, I pounce pinning it down. It screams in terror and I let it scream some more then I let it go free.

Backtrack in time a little bit.

The male's Pov.

I follow the river downstream, looking for her. I don't see or catch any sign of her. Where is she?

I'm just gonna take a small nap, ya know, reenergize for when I have to fight the female.

It takes a while but I finally pick a nice tree and lie down at its roots. As I sleep, I have an amazing dream.

The dream.

There I lay, next to my mate in a den. I nuzzle her side, trying to wake her up.

"Love wake up." I whisper in her ear. She opens her eyes and lazily lifts her head. "What do you want? I was sleeping." She grumbles angrily.

"I just need to groom your pelt." I tell her. "Ugh, fine whatever." She mumbles laying her head on her paws.

I groom her pelt, cleaning all the dirt off of her. Making sure she is clean for when I introduce her to my pack. I don't want them thinking she is some dirty mutt.

End of dream.

I wake to the sound of a rabbit's screams. Time to track down this rabbit killer. I get up and start tracking the screams.

As I track the rabbit's scream to their source, I come upon her scent once again. I best follow it so I can find her. It leads me to a bramble bush with no leaves. She must have slept here recently, her scent is still fresh.

If I want to find her, I must track the scent trail that leads away from this bramble bush. It doesn't take me very long to track her scent to back to were the rabbit screams came from.

But she is nowhere in sight when I look around. Taking a deep breath, I sniff for her scent.

It's hard to find her scent, she must have rolled on some dirt and leaves to hide her scent. "Oh honey, two can play at that game." I smirk before rolling in some leaves.
