Scar's Pov.
Hurt. That's all I feel. I hate to admit it, but I'm hurt. He already moved on and I haven't even been gone that long yet.
I quickly waddle back the way I came, tryin to get out of this dreaded territory as fast as I can.
It doesn't take long for me to get out of that awful place. I put my nose to the ground, smellin for Mars's scent.
It's very easy for me to discern his scent from all the other scents. I waddle as fast as I can to catch up to him.
The heartbreak seems to grow greater the farther I get away from Thunder. But the hurt is good. It means you're out of that cave.
It doesn't take long for me to catch up to my brother, even with my slow waddle I somehow manage to catch up to him.
Narrator speaking here!
Mars slows down as he hears something walking behind him. He turns around to snarl but stops short when he sees Scar.
She quickly waddles up to him, then she waddles right past him. "Sc.." Mars starts to say, but he's cut off by Scar.
"My name is Akeela, not Scar." Is all she says as she walks past him. He smirks a little, that means she must be on their side of the fight not the enemies.
The two wolves walk in silence for a long time. Till Akeela's rumbling stomach brings them to a halt.
"You're hungry, when was the last time you've eaten?" Mars asks with concern. "I don't remember when I last ate." Akeela admits.
Mars looks at his sister with a bewildered look. "Well I'm going to go hunt you down something good." Mars says before running off in search of food.
Akeela sits down on a patch of snow. Her stomach would not stop growling. "Shush, you all will get food soon." She softly growls at her round stomach.
After awhile of Mars not being there, Akeela decides to take a nap.
"Akeela, wake up!" Mars says as he nudges her head with his. "Go away." She grumbles sleepily.
"Well then I'll just eat the rabbit myself then." "Oh no no no!" Akeela says as she sits up. "That's what I thought." Mars smirks as Akeela quickly eats the rabbit.
Akeela's face was stained blood red by the time she finishes eating the rabbit. "Thanks brother." Akeela grins at him.
"You're welcome, now come on. We have a long walk ahead of us." Mars says as he starts walking towards his territory.
All this walking had Akeela tired out in hardly any time at all. "You're struggling, do you want me to carry you?"
"No, I've already troubled you enough for one day." Akeela says as she continues to slowly waddle through a deep patch of snow.
She was annoyed that Mars asked if she needed help. It was very obvious she had all this handled.
Mars watches his sister with amusement. It was rather funny to see her mad at him.
By the time it was sunset, Mars and Akeela had finally returned to their territory. All of that walking had Akeela so tired that as soon as she was at Mars's den she plopped down and fell asleep.
As she slept, Mars went off to tell their father of what had happened.
As Akeela slept, she was internally panicking.
Akeela's Dream
I was running. Running towards a wolf, the wolf was my enemy, the white demon! But the more I ran towards her, the farther away she got.
Then I was stuck, stuck in quicksand. I struggle trying to get out of the quicksand, but it was no use, I was sinking fast.
On the bank of the quicksand pit, a black wolf appeared. "Thunder help me!" I weakly called to him.
He opened his mouth to speak, but he closed it when the white demon appeared by his side.
She whispered something in his ear and then she evilly grinned at me. By this point, my head was barely above the quicksand.
"I'm sorry." He mouthed, before the two wolves walked away. My head sank below the quicksand and I started thrashing trying to get my head above the sand.
End of dream
Akeela's eyes shot open and she took as many deep breaths of air as she could. That dream shook her to the core.
Then like a stab to the gut, that dreaded heartbreak was back. It hurt her, hurt her more than all that fighting. Hurt her more than losing her family.
You see, heartbreak is something that makes Akeela hurt a lot. But it would hurt you too if you're mate moved on and got a new mate after you were gone for one day.
Akeela lays her scarred head on her paws. She couldn't help but stare up at the ceiling and think about her life.
And that's when the tears started to fall. A steady stream of hot, sticky tears slowly make their way down her face.
As the tears flowed freely, they started to slowly, but surely wash the rabbit's blood off of her beautiful face.
"My poor pups won't have a father." Akeela whimpers as she covers her face with her paws.
She didn't want Mars to return and see her crying, for that would be awfully shameful and embarrassing.
"Who knew heartbreak could be so painful?" She whispers as she uncovers her face and looks up at the full moon.
"A strong wolf isn't the wolf who doesn't cry. A strong wolf is the one who cries and sheds tears for a moment, then gets up and fights again." A voice whispers on the wind.
Akeela looks at the moon for a moment, wondering if the moon was talking to her. "Are you, talking to me?" She asks.
"Yes." The wind whispers back. A shocked expression flashes across Akeela's face. "Life is tough darling, but so are you." The moon whispers.
"Yes, I'm tough and I'll keep fighting till my last breath. Thank you moon for this advice." Akeela smiles at the bright moon, by this time those awful tears had stopped flowing.
After thanking the moon, she sits up and tilts her head back. A low howl resonates from her. The howl was erie, and sent chills down every wolf who heard it.
Thunder's ears twitch, that howl sounded awfully familiar. He looks up at the moon one last time then he goes back into the cave.
"Who was that howling?" He whispers as he lays down on a pelt. "Whoever it was, they are part of the enemy's pack and they are gonna die tomorrow." Thunder grins as he lays his head on his paws and falls asleep.
