A few weeks later
The whole pack was confused on how Scar was alive but she had no explanation for it. As far as she knew she died when Mars attacked her.
What she didn't know was that it would take a lot more than her brother being a little bastard to kill her.
Besides the whole pack being confused, they were also happy to have their alpha female back.
The happiest member of the pack has to be Bolt. Having his mother back made him the happiest wolf in the world, even happier than his father.
Thunder's Pov.
It was a long day of hunting with the pack and it was all for nothing. That deer outran us so our energy was wasted.
I know some time with my mate and son will cheer me up though.
I slowly walk up to them and lay on a pelt directly across from them.
"And she told him, if he ever tried that again, he'd be dead." Scar says. Bolt stares at her in wonder.
"Mom tell me another story!" He yips with a glee I've never seen before in his eyes. Scar smiles before telling him a story I've never heard before.
"A long, long time ago there once was a beautiful young wolf, desired by every male in the land. But she didn't want any of them.
So she hid in the forest, away from the prying eyes of others. One day she angered a bird, and that bird then snitched on her and told every male in the area where the female was.
A male as pale as snow found her first, she refused his advances, which angered him.
His snowy pelt shook with anger as she told him for the eighth time that she would not be his mate.
So he offered her a proposition, if she beat him in a fight she could be free, and if she lost she would be his mate.
She beautiful female agreed and the two fought. She beat him and was free.
She told every male she ran across the snow deal, as she called it. (She named it after the male who invented it.) Each battle she fought in, she won.
Making her go from the beautifulest, most sought after female to the ugliest least sought after female.
Hearing of what happened to her, other females took off to the wild. Taking advice from the battle scarred female.
She told them to fight every male they came across, and if they won they were free.
Her words about the snow deal brought females from miles around to the forest to practice the snow deal.
And for years and years she taught them everything she knew on how to defeat males.
Even after her death, her snow deal was practiced, and it's still practiced to this day.
Now this female was known as Angeline, and she is the mother of the mate hunts."
I stare at Scar with wonder. This story explains so much.
"Mom, is that story real?" "It's as real as your father having to chase me down time and time again."
"Dad is that true?" He asks with a look of suspicion. "Yes, I did have to chase your mother quite a lot."
"Lightning baby..." Scar starts, but she was cut off. "Why do you call me Lightning? My name is Bolt."
"I called you that when you were born." She explains. Sadness sweeps over her scarred face after she tells him this.
"Oh." Was all Bolt said before he buried his head in her brown fur.
This motherly love is evident as Scar licks Bolt's body clean.
In no time my boy is fast asleep.
"Scar, why didn't you come back to me when you left Mar's den?" I ask, I need to know the answer.
"My memories, they were gone." She says as her eyes meet mine. "I'm sorry." I reply.
"It's not your fault, you helped me get them back." She weakly smiles. "How?"
"Something you told me long ago, Ripper repeated. Those words triggered my memories to come back."
I stand up and walk over to her. I lay down behind her, resting my head on her back.
I lick her head, giving her the best cleaning I could. I carefully run my tongue over her ripped ear. Remembering what she told me long ago.
"Thank you. I needed that." She says sweetly before resting her head on her paws.
I missed this, I truly missed this so much.
"Thank you my love. Thank you for coming back to us. You don't know how much it means to me to have you back by my side." I smile before placing a lick on her head.
"I love you." She smiles before leaning into my side. "I love you too."
