The next day at school Jamal had walked me to class and it was official. Everyone at school knew we were dating. 

After school was over Jamal met me after class to walk me home. 

"Hey babe" he said while kissing me. 

"Aww look at the two love birds" Jasmine said as she threw her arms around our shoulders. 

"Holy shit Jasmine. Don't do that!" Jamal yelled while picking her arm off of him. 

"Sorry. I was wondering if you saw Ruby. Ive been looking for him all day" Jasmine said.

"Nope no clue." Jamal replied while grabbing my hand and walking away. 

"So how do you feel about coming over to Ruby's with me and the crew." Jamal asked as we headed home. 

"Sure. But I wanna see my mama before she goes to work tonight. I can stop by right after." I answered. 

"Of course babe. So I'll walk you home first" he said while smiling at me. 

Once Jamal walked me home, we kissed and I went inside. 

I saw my mama and changed into a crop top and shorts because it was so hot outside. 

On my way to Ruby's a green car rolled up next to me. 

"Yo ma. You lookin fine." A guy said. 

I rolled my eyes and kept walking. 

I noticed the car still following me. 

"Yo. I'm talking to you. You new?"

I looked over and saw a kid in braids and a green hoodie. He was kinda cute.

"No I'm not new. And neither is my boyfriend. So just back off" i said while continuing my walk. 

"Oh you gotta mouth on you. I like a shorty with an attitude. I'll see you and your mans around then" he said as his friend sped off. 

I shook my head and finally made it to Ruby's.

I rang the bell and Ruby let me in.

"Hey Tasha. I'm glad you're here. I was just arguing with Jamal and Cesar that zombies and mummies are not the same thing." Ruby said. 

Jamal moved over on the couch so I could sit next to him.

"Tell him babe. Aren't mummies and zombies the same thing" Jamal asked.

"Honestly, I'm sorry babe but technically they're not… Mummies have their brains and insides removed or preserved. And zombies are usually caused by an infection and they like to attack people." I replied. 

"Yes thank you Tasha! At least someone has brains here." Ruby said. 

"Sheesh babe. I expected you to take my side. Im hurt." Jamal joked. 

"Im sorry. I go for the facts" i said while sticking my tongue out at him.

"Ey gimme that tongue" Jamal replied while grabbing my face and kissing me. 

He grabbed my tongue with his lips and I giggled. 

"Okayyyy guys. Find a room." Ruby said.

"I think its cute" Cesar said. 

Once Monse arrived, we watched a movie and Jamal walked me home. 

I saw a green car drive by and grabbed onto Jamal's hand tighter. 

"Baby I think now's the time to tell you that on my way to Ruby's. Some guy tried talking to me" I quickly said.

"Hey ma. Told you I'd see you around." The guy said. 

Jamal looked over and gasped. 

"Oh hell na. You with this clown ass fool" the guy laughed. 

"So I guess you two know each other? That's great. So that means you can respect the fact that I'm with Jamal." I said with an attitude. 

"Yeah you funny and cute ma. Don't worry I always get what I want. I'll see you around." He said while his friend drive off once again. 

"Who the hell is that Jamal" i asked. 

"Latrelle. It's a long story." He said quietly. 

"Well we have plenty of time. My mom just left to work" I replied.
