The next morning Jamal picked me up and we walked to school. Everything was pretty normal. Jamal had to help his dad with a shift at his BBQ restaurant after class so he couldn't walk me home. 

I made plans with Monse and hung out with her instead. She took me around her part of the neighborhood and we ended up checking on Cesar. 

Since he found out that Latrelle was back Cesar hadn't gone to school.

Once we got to Cesar's Spooky let us in. 

"Wheres your man" he asked me while Monse kissed Cesar and sat next to him. 

"Working" I shyly replied. 

"Come. I need to speak to you. Alone" Spooky said to me. 

I looked at Cesar and Monse confused. They shrugged their shoulders at me and I followed Spooky to his room. 

"What's up" I asked him. 

"Sit" he said while closing the door. 

I sat on his bed and looked up at him. I hadn't noticed how cute he was until now. 

"Listen you new to the ridge so here are the rules. One, if you coming around my house, you better not be fuckin with no Prophets. Two, my protection comes at a price. Especially if i gotta protect you on Prophets territory" he said while walking closer to me.

"What's the price?" I asked. 

"You let me fuck." He said with a smile. 

"I'm with Jamal and you're older than me. Like I said I'm good. I don't need protection" i replied while rolling my eyes. 

"Age is just a number. This deal is between us. No one has to know. Especially your boy Jamal." Spooky replied. 

"No thanks." I said while walking past Spooky and back into the living room.

"Hey guys I'm out. I'll see y'all at school tomorrow" I said to Monse and Cesar. 

I left and walked home. 

Less than half way home I felt someone walking behind me. It was Latrelle. 

"What's good ma. I finally caught you alone" he said while walking next to me. 

"What do you want Latrelle?" I asked.

"You girl. You needa stop playing and fuck with a real nigga" he said. 

"I'm not interested. Thank you. Bye" I replied while walking faster. 

He ran to catch up with me. 

"Stop walking away from me. You know I ain't giving up till you give me a chance" he said.

I stopped and looked at him. 

"You really think I'm gonna leave my man for some thug ass nigga who out here killin innocent people? You're a whole joke kid. My man is the real nigga. Not you. Plus you out here tryna kill my friend Cesar? Get the fuck out my face boy" I yelled. 

"Yo chill out and watch your mouth. You don't even know the whole story." Latrelle yelled back while stepping up to me. 

"The fuck you stepping up to me boy… You gonna hit a girl? You best back up" I said while looking up at him in anger. 

He flared his nose at me and stepped back. 

"You know what. Fuck you and your friends. Ya'll better watch your back… Bitch." he said while spitting at my feet and backing away. 

"Oh and your smart mouth just cost your boy Cesar's life" he said while pointing gun fingers at me before turning around and walking away.
