The moment I got home I went to shower and cried. This was the first time in my life that Ive ever had to deal with my friends being threatened.

T: I just want Cesar and everyone to be safe. I don't care what side that is. I just want this over. 
M: Maybe talk to Jamal first. I mean whatever choice you make will affect him too.
T: I guess you're right. Thanks girl. Ill see you tomorrow

I hung up and laid down in bed. I missed Long Beach and my dad so much. Shit like this would have never happened with him around. 

I went to sleep and tried to forget everything.

The next morning I woke up and got ready for school. 

Jamal picked me up and we walked to school.

He finally let me go, and immediately pulled me to him and started feeling up on me.

I checked my phone and had over 50 missed calls between Ruby, Monse and Cesar.

As soon as I laid down, my door bell rang. I went to open the door and it was Spooky. 

He let himself in and closed the door. 

"I'm not supposed to be here but I heard from your boy Ruby and Cesar about Latrelle. You good?" He asked. 

"I'm fine. As fine as I'll ever be. But your brother is safe now. That's what matters right?" I quietly said. 

"Nena, you didn't have to do that." Spooky said. 

"Apparently I did. Because when Monse asked you to help me, you gave me the same choice Latrelle did. The only difference is I didn't have a choice with Latrelle. It was either that or Ruby's life and then everyone else's." I replied. 

"Look I'm sorry. I'm just glad you alright. I'll see you around then." Spooky said as he let himself out. 

I went back to my room and started to cry.
