"Ketti mellam, ketti mellam.. " the ayer said.. I took the thali and looked at Anika.. Her eyes were gleamy and red.. It looked like she's ready for the War which is going to happen. I closed my eyes and as the nadhaswaram sound played, I gathered my courage and tied the thali around her neck. "This is it.. The end of everything. The end of my happiness.. The end of my LIFE ...... "..I thought to myself.. Everyone around us threw the yellow coloured rice on us as a symbol of blessing,But all I could feel was hot rocks hitting on me.. I tied the knot and then looked at her.. She glared at me into my eyes.. It gave me shivers on my spine. I quickly looked away. The ayer told me to apply the vermilion on her forehead. As I applied it, my hand started trembling in fear.. Then it was our turn to take blessings from the elderly ones.. We went in front of my father and touched his feet for blessings..

Anika was in deep thinking. She was in her room. Vaishu and Ashy prepared her for the first night and left her all alone in the room. As she was lost in her thoughts, all of a sudden she heard the door opening. Without any doubt,she knew it was Anirudh because he was the one who is supposed to enter the room at this time... Anirudh walked towards Anika with fear.. He stood infront of her and began the conversation.
