I couldn't stop thinking about Alec that day. I strolled down the hallway to my dorm with yet another massive smile. My hair was soaking wet as well as my clothes, I didn't care! I made it to my dorm and unlocked the door. Amelia was sitting there on her bed with a bunch of leaflets in her hands.
"What's all this?" I asked. Why was she holding hundreds of paper invitations? Then, I raised my head upwards and saw a a word in bold letters. I was reading it upside down, so it was a bit difficult. It said - ytraP- then I spelt it the right way in my head. PARTY!!
"Gem! Your having a party?? Where, when, why??" Amelia chuckled slightly then began to explain.
"As we have just joined this college, we need to make a reputation for ourselves. We have been here for 3 weeks now and we are already loners! If I throw this party, everyone will love us!" I sat down beside Amelia on her bed then read aloud what the leaflets said.
"We will like to invite you to an amazing.... Frat Party! You and a plus one will be in the guest list to the night club .... The Spot. The address is on the back. Hope you can make it to our party! From Amelia Watts and Brooke Clark xoxo."
"So what do you think?" Amelia asked. She put on the puppy eye look to make me fell guilty if I say no.
"Fine!!" I cried. I hopped on my bed and went on my laptop.
3hours later....
That night I had a babysitting job. I was on my laptop for hours chatting with the child's parents, so I don't make any mistakes with the kid.I said bye to Amelia and grabbed my car keys and drove off in My Range Rover to the address the agency I work for sent me. It was a nice house. Almost familiar. I jumped out the car, ready for my first job!! I rang the doorbell, that too sounded very familiar, like it had something to do with my childhood? The child's mom answered the door. She looked as though I'd seen her before, either that or I'm getting déjà vu.
"Hiya! I'm supposed to be babysitting.." I checked my notes on my phone.
"Ay?" It was a weird name to call a kid so I didn't know if i pronounced it probably.
"Yes, that's right. Please come in!" I stepped in her house and took off my jacket. It was so nice and big, almost like my childhood home. The woman said she was in a hurry so she had to go quickly. She told me that Ay was upstairs and I should call his name once she had left.
"Hello? Ay?" As those words came out someone walked down the stairs. It was Alec.
"Alec! What are you doing here?" I was so confused!
"Uhh, this is my house. What are you doing here." Then everything started flooding back to me. This is Alec's house! Alec's mum and mine were best friends so that's why the house looked familiar not just because I had been there a trillion times when I was little but also because Alec's mum- Gemma- helped decorate my old house.
"Umm, I'm meant to be babysitting... Ay?"
"Um, Ay is my nickname, Wait! Your babysitting me??"
