I wake up to a sharp poke on my shoulder.
"Aria wake up..." The voice laughs softly. There's only one person who it could be, Xander.
"What do you want?" I groan angrily because he woke me up.
"It's time for work, I had to close the store to come and get you!" He snickers.
"I'm sorry, I thought you wouldn't need me anymore, because of Josh." I sputter in his face. I see him frown, realising that he gave even bothered asking me if I was alright for the past few days.
"I'm sorry I haven't been talking to recently, and I promise you're still my best friend, not even Josh can get in the way of that!" he says sitting on the sofa beside me.
"I forgive you." I say unconvincingly. I rub my eyes and sit up, my body aches in every place imaginable and I've got a migraine.
"You know my mom is dead..." I sigh, staying strong so I can carry on talking to Xander.
"Yeah..." He says nervously.
"Her funeral is next Friday, and I was wondering if you would come with me?" I ask hesitantly.
"Umm, ok. Today's Friday so that gives me a whole week to pack. It's in Madera California right?" He asks, I nod my head.
"I take it we'll be going by plane then?"
I nod my head again.
"Anyone else coming?" He continues asking. I go to shake my head then look up at my front door. Tyler. Tyler could come, it wouldn't be so painful if Tyler came.
"Tyler." I reply simply.
"Your, your next door neighbour Tyler? the one who phoned me when..." He trails off pointing at the front door and I nod my head for the third time.
"Do you think he'll come?" I ask, looking up to Xander hopefully.
"Maybe..." Xander smiles doubtfully.I bite my lip, because asking Tyler if he wants to come to my mom's funeral would be awkward, especially after what happened yesterday.
"You go, I'll meet you there. " I say, going towards my bathroom to take a shower.
"Smell you later!" Xander shouts, shutting the door behind him. I smile at Xander's childish ways and hop into the luke warm shower. I turn the temperature up so hot it burns, but it doesn't bother me, I'm use to pain.I get dressed into floral patterned vans, blue skinny jeans and a slightly lighter blue plain t-shirt. I pick out my warmest hoodie because the weather hasn't been great. The hoodie is so long it droops over my hands. I pick up my iPhone and scroll straight onto the iTunes Store. I search for Tyler and Josh's regional at best album and buy it. The only song I've heard is guns for hands, which left me speechless and I'm hoping the rest of them are like that too. Once it's been downloaded I put it on shuffle and the first song I start listening to is entitled 'Car Radio.'
I lift my eyebrows up at its peculiar name, but listen carefully to each word Tyler raps. Leaving the building, my desire to blast the song on full volume gets bigger and bigger. My desire for Tyler also gets bigger and bigger. From listening to them for about 5 minutes I've come to understand that Twenty One Pilots is going to be something big.
