I went over to Mike's one day.

After a long while of talking.

"So..."

"Hm?"

"Are you and Christina..." I raise an eyebrow.

He turns red. "What about us?"

"You know what I'm saying, stop," I roll my eyes.

"Well..." He shrugs. "I don't know."

"What do you mean?" I lean forward, listening.

"I mean, I like her. I don't know if she feels the same way? I don't know if she sees me that way, you know what I mean? Like, if she doesn't, then it'll be very awkward and..." He rubs his face.

I put my hand over his. "Mike. Look at me."

He does.

"I think she does, Mike, but it's my word here. You will never know until you ask."

"Gosh, I know, Avy." He sighs. "I just...I hate this feeling."

I ruffle his hair. It way shorter now. "Hey, stop worrying."

He grins at me. "That aside, are you ever getting married?"

I laugh. "Someday, yeah."

He smiles at me.

"It's a big thing, you know. Getting married." I say.

He nods and grins. "Send me an invitation."

I roll my eyes. "No, I was planning not to."

Tobias and I just returned from work.

"How's work?" I ask, as we drink some coffee and look out of the window.

"Well, it's fine, I guess. You know how it goes," He shrugs. I nod, even though I don't. "Yours?"

"Mine is going on great too. Keeps me on my toes," I grin. He smiles.

Tobias and I don't talk much about many things. We like it that way.

"Wonder when we'll have a get together again. Been so long."

"Oh true."

Just then, the door bell rings.

I open the door to two men. They are the police.

"Yes?" I answer.

"Mr. Tobias Johnson?" He asks.

Tobias steps beside me. "That'll be me."

"Sir, is it true that you are a GD?"

Tobias frowns. "Why--"

"The official records, sir. Please co-operate."

"That's right. I'm a GD," He answers.

"And you ma'am?" He looks at me.

"GP." I answer.

"A GP and a GD?" The man raises an eyebrow.

I step forward. "Is that a problem, officer?"

Tobias grabs my wrist but I don't move back.

"Of course not, ma'am. Just an enquiry."

They leave.

I grumble. "Never really treat the same, do they?"

Tobias looks at me and smiles. "Thank you."

"Why?" I ask.

"You know, for everything."

"What do you mean?"

"For believing that I'm not... deficient or something." He shrugs.

I pull his face close, kissing him.

He doesn't question.

"Never, never, never, say that again. I chose you and you are you to me. I don't give a damn what they say."

He smiles softly. "Noted."

"You are you, Tobias. Screw the GD, GP thing. You will forever be you. And don't ever think of you as someone else."

"I know..." He grins. "You're here beside me right?"

"I'll always be." I smile.

He presses his lips to mine. "I love you."

People never change, so I've learnt to ignore them.

He taught me that.

For another time, we went across the city to the abandoned corner to use the zip line. Tobias made it very clear that he will not be coming inspite of whatever we say.

I once again went to the top along with the others. Zeke took the strapping in role as usual. Mike came this time.

It reminded me of the time when I first came here. I can see Tobias like a small dot from here.

And again, we travelled across the zip-line.

I shouted this time. Just for the sake of it. Chicago is really beautiful from up here.

Tobias caught me as I let go. I grin at him.

"Your hair is a mess," He grins

I laugh.

The others soon came along.

Tobias caught my eye in between and I smiled at him.

Christina linked her arm with mine and Mike walked the other side. Zeke rolled his eyes at us.

Among these incredible people I have the privilege to call my friends and the one love of my life, I remember the past and what is to come.

Life is good.
