"Have your wounds healed, Avdol?" Kakyoin asked the Egyptian. He had gotten released that morning, and he and the rest of the group had gone to check on Scarlet and Kakyoin immediately after. They found Scarlet sleeping on the chair besides Kakyoin's bed, her head leaned back and her mouth slightly open. A blanket had been unevenly placed over her. Kakyoin must have been responsible for that.
She was a bit embarrassed about being caught sleeping like that.
"Yes. But I'm much happier that you'll be alright, Kakyoin." Avdol replied with a smile. The rest of the group was smiling too, standing around Kakyoin's bed, Polnareff leaning against it.
"Indeed. He didn't cut my pupils, so I've been told it should heal soon. In junior high, one of my classmates had been hit with a baseball so hard that his eye had been mashed in, but he was fine the next day. It was just fluid leaking out of his eyeball." Kakyoin recollected. Joseph's smile turned into a look of shock, and Polnareff stared at him with wide eyes.
"Seriously?!"
"No!"
Kakyoin smiled. "In a few days, I can take off my bandages. I'll catch up with you then. We're less than 800 kilometers from DIO's hideout in Cairo. Everyone, please continue on, and be careful."
Scarlet looked away. They had had that discussion last night. After they were both seemingly satisfied with their time spent kissing each other, Kakyoin mentioned that he wanted her to keep going with the Crusaders, to not let him hold her back. She refused. They argued, but she ended up giving in.
As they all exited the room, she looked at him one last time. 'You better join us quickly, Kakyoin.' She thought to herself. She wished he could hear her.
They headed down to the lobby, Polnareff looking at their receipt while Scarlet stared at it blankly.
"The numbers on this receipt...Are they Arabic numbers?" He asked, waving the receipt around. "It's so confusing! This 0 is actually a 5, right? And this dot is a 0, this 7 is a 6? And this wormy looking one is..."
"A 4." Avdol finished the sentence. "So the amount we owe is..."
Polnareff gasped. "46,350 Egyptian pounds?! That's expensive!" He cried out. Scarlet looked at Joseph. She saw one of the doctors that witnessed her "revival" staring at her from the corner of her eye. She quickly turned away.
"Oh, how cute! Look at this little puppy! He's so unique! Oh, he's chewing gum!" A high-pitched voice squealed. The group turned. Outside was a group of girls, some nurses, surrounding Iggy, who just sat there unamused, chewing his gum.
"Good grief." Jotaro muttered.
"He's a hit with chicks!" Polnareff muttered as well. Scarlet rolled her eyes as Polnareff walked over to the group, who were still all fawning over Iggy.
He made a few comments to them about Iggy, probably saying something mean, seeing as before he was even done talking, Iggy jumped on him, hanging onto his face and farting as Polnareff tried to pull him off and the girls laughed.
Scarlet chuckled as they walked over, having finished paying.
"Come on, lovebirds. We're heading out." Scarlet said, lightly tapping his shoulder as she walked by him.
"S-Scarlet? Bold of you to say that about me when you-" Polnareff started, but Iggy farted again. Scarlet smirked.
"Y-y-you...you shitty little dog!" Polnareff cried out into the air.

"They say the Ancient Egyptians always buried their dead beyond the Nile's boundary, where the sun sets." Joseph explained to them as the group sailed on a boat down the river. "That's why the whole city is on the east side of the Nile. All structures built on the west side involve the dead. But we have to remember our enemies don't care about east or west. They'll attack from any direction."
