I sincerely apologize for any typos I make, I rushed to publish this, and with school coming up, my nonexistent schedule may become worse! I also have another story that I very stupidly decided to start writing. Still, thank you for reading, and enjoy the chapter!

"How are those two doing?" Polnareff asked as he lit the cigarette in between his lips.

"Avdol's neck wound didn't damage anything vital, fortunately, so he'll probably be released tomorrow." Joseph answered. But he hesitated before mentioning Kakyoin. He turned to look at Scarlet.

She walked next to Jotaro in silence, and was the farthest from the group, besides Iggy. She had said that it was because she didn't want to be "near Polnareff and his damn cigarettes", but everyone saw she was brooding as she walked. She didn't want to leave Kakyoin and Avdol in the hospital, staying in Kakyoin's room with Iggy in her lap, but Joseph thought she needed to walk around, have some fresh air. He was right.

He turned back to Polnareff. He couldn't hide the fact that Kakyoin wasn't doing great.

"Kakyoin's injuries are serious. He...he might go blind."

Scarlet took a sharp breath and coughed when Joseph finished talking. He turned to her.

"Sorry. Cigarette smoke." She muttered, looking away from the group and at the shops in the street.

She hadn't left Kakyoin's side since they arrived at Aswan. At that point, it was no secret that she liked him a lot. It was also highly possible he felt the same way.

Polnareff wondered why they wouldn't just confess their feelings to each other. He hated seeing Scarlet like this.

"I'm worried." Polnareff looked at Joseph.

He was talking about both Scarlet and Kakyoin.

"He might be out for the rest of the trip." Jotaro said softly, and he saw Scarlet's head perk up slightly when he finished speaking. She took a deep breath.

"There are a lot of café's around here. How about we get a drink and we just relax?" Polnareff suggested.

"Great idea. Which one, though?" Joseph asked, to which Polnareff took his cigarette, flicked it to the ground, and looked at the café that it was pointing at.

"My cigarette picked that one."

Scarlet looked at the café. It had a sign that said "Maxim." It didn't look too bad.

They walked over to it and took their seats. What must have been the café owner (though he looked rather young) came up to them, almost menacingly. He had on a green cap and white apron, underneath was a light blue sleeveless sweater, a salmon colored t-shirt and jeans.

"What would you like?"

"Hmm..I'd like some black tea." Polnareff answered.

"Me, too." Jotaro answered.

"So, four black teas, then?" The owner asked, but Scarlet shook her head.

"Nah. Egypt is enemy territory. The black teas could be poisoned. We're better off drinking something in a bottle that we can open ourselves." She said. Jotaro looked at her, somewhat surprised that she had decided to talk. He quickly realized she just wanted to make a comment towards Joseph, as she was staring right at him with an annoyed expression.

"Which is why I wanted to stay at the hospital, and also why I should have stayed at the hospital." She finished.

"You needed to get out, and you know it." Joseph replied sternly. He looked to the owner. "Hey, forget the tea. We'll have four colas instead."
