"So under absorption costing, how do you value closing stock?" Aayush asked.
"At total production cost." Abhi answered.
"And under marginal costing?"
"At variable cost per product."
"Great." Aayush clapped. "Another chapter is done."
"Wow! Now how many chapters are remaining?"
"Five?" Khushi asked with a doubt. She glanced at Aayush before looking at Diya.
"Yup five." Diya nodded.
Khushi, Aayush, Abhi and Diya were seated at the lawn outside their dorm buildings. It was evening time and the weather was also quite pleasant this, they decided to sit at the lawn itself instead of the common room. Aayush was teaching Abhi while Diya and Khushi were practicing on their own.
"Khushi, could you show me the solution of question no three?" Diya asked while confusedly looking in her own book. She even held out her hand in Khushi's direction. But when Diya received neither a reply norr the book she looked up and noticed Khushi typing on her mobile.
"Khushi?" Diya called out louder this time. "Solution of question no three."
"Oh yeah sorry. Just a second." Khushi opened her book the the relevant page and handed it to Diya.
"Why not call him here." Diya suggested.
"Whom?"
"The one you are texting so much."
"Ummm... Yeah." Khushi kept her mobile away and they continued to solve sums.
"Hey guys." Omkar sat down beside Khushi joining the group.
"Wow! That was fast!" Diya commented.
"What?" Omkar asked.
"I just suggested Khushi to text you to join us here," Diya said. "You two have been texting each other since quite long."
"Huh?" Omkar looked at Khushi. "When did you text me?"
Khushi slapped his arm and gave him a look. "I just did. You must be so busy getting your food."
Diya looked at them with a questioning look. Khushi laughed and just shook her head at Omkar and glanced at Diya. "Boys."
Diya felt as if Khushi was acting weird and hiding something from her.
"Bro, you are having a sandwich," Abhi said. "Didn't we just have lunch?"
"Yeah. But that was like an hour back." Omkar took a bite of his sandwich.
"Your appetite seems to have increased these days," Aayush said.
"It's probably the side effects of not smoking." Abhi then asked. "When was the last time you did?"
"Last Tuesday." Khushi answered.
"You allowed him to?"
"Allowed? What do you mean by that?... And besides he never asked me. He just told me about it later... Also it's not the question of allow. Smoking is unhealthy..."
"And we think that you should stop it too." Diya looked at Abhi.
"Yeah." Khushi added.
"Naah..." Abhi dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand. "I am not stupid like your boys."
"Oh hello," Omkar said. "What do you mean?"
"These girls have sweet talked you into stopping this habit. First Rohit and now you too. I'm not going to fall for the words of these girls."
"Well if falling for the words of my girl is going to gain me her love then I might as well try to follow. And I'm sure Rohit thinks the same too."
"It's really appreciative of Rohit," Khushi admired. "He hasn't smoked since the night of the party. Which has been quite a long time now."
"Who by the way is where at the moment?... Diya?"
Diya checked he mobile and frowned as she shook her head. "No idea. I haven't see him after breakfast. He hasn't replied to my texts either."
"Maybe he is with his other girlfriend." Abhi laughed but stopped once he noticed Diya, Omkar and Khushi giving him a look. "What?... I was just kidding... I meant he could be smoking somewhere... Omkar you remember him calling his cigarette his girlfriend once."
"Yeah." Omkar agreed with a laugh. "He was so drunk that night... We teased him a lot on that too."
"But he wouldn't do that now," Khushi said. "Right Omkar."
"Yes." Omkar looked up at Diya. "Rohit is actually at practice with the coach. He went their straight with the team after breakfast. It seems his training has dragged long."
Right. Diya thought. The finals was next week. And even Mayank was missing.
"Ohhhh... Okay." Diya nodded. "Let's get back to studies then." Diya flipped open her book again. Diya had agreed for the moment but she knew something was fishy and Rohit was lying to someone. Because when she texted him a while back he answered her saying that he was going to home for some urgent work. She hoped that he was not in any trouble.
"How about we go for a movie later ?" Aayush suggested.
"Good idea." Abhi beamed. "I'll immediately check which movies are running in the theater."
"No need." Aayush shook his head sideways. "You continue studying... Khushi will check the movie names and timings."
"You guys carry on. I'll just head to my dorm room in a while," Diya said.
"Why?" Khushi raised her eyebrows.
"I am having a bit of headache."
"That's why you should not hang out in the company of Abhi for so long." Omkar commented. Abhi slapped Omkar's Armand they had a guys banter.
Khushi looked at Diya and nodded in her direction asking what was wrong. The latter just shook her head sideways and smiled indicating that everything was okay.
