It was another evening when Diya was having dinner at Rohit's house. Post the period they spent away from they were once again comfortable with each other. The fun and flirting was back. After she spent the evening with Rohit, she then left for her grandparents house for those nights, as her grandparents' house was closer to Rohit's apartment. She would have morning breakfast with her grandparents, mama, mami and Chirag, who also lived with them before heading for office.
Diya was helping Rohit clear the dishes from the table. She placed them in the sink and turned open the tap to let them soak in water. She washed her hands and dried them with the paper towels in the kitchen.
She then walked towards Rohit and gave him a hug. "Thank you for a wonderful evening Rohit. I'll see you later."
When she pulled away and tried to take a step back he stopped her from leaving. He placed his hands firmly on her waist. "You are leaving?" He asked with a glum expression.
"Yes Rohit."
"Please don't go." He requested.
"I have to Rohit. It's already so late." She glanced at the clock on the refrigerator. "It's past eleven."
"Why don't you spend the night here?" Rohit suggested.
"With you?"
"No, with our neighbor, Mr Patel. He comes over here to sleep every night."
Diya narrowed her eyes at his ridiculous attempt to sarcasm. "I should be tremendously worried in that case."
"You know what I meant Diya... Spend the night with me." He pleaded. "Come on... we'll watch a movie."
"Rohit..." She was reluctant.
"I haven't seen you in a week. You just arrived back today morning and again on Saturday you will be flying off to Delhi. I miss you so much Diya."
"I miss you too Rohit. But..."
"Then please, spend the night here."
He jutted out his bottom lip and made a puppy face with pleading eyes. Diya could not say no to him. "Okay."
His face broke into a broad smile and he cheered like a small kid. He quickly kissed her cheek. Diya chuckled. "I'll text Chirag about me staying back here."
"I'll take out something comfortable for you to change into till then."
Diya quickly typed a message to Chirag informing him that she would be spending the night at Rohit's house itself and would meet him directly at their grandparents house the following morning. Diya asked him to cover up for her by making any excuse.
She placed her mobile aside and walked further in the house towards Rohit's bedroom. He was just shutting the closet door when she entered. His bedroom was quiet simple and almost similar to the earlier one at his parents house. A king sized bed rested against the wall with bedside tables on either side. Above the bed was a wall hanging of the world map. Exactly opposite to the bed was a TV unit with a wall mount TV above. The side of the room opposite to the entrance had floor to ceiling glass window which overlooked the city. At the moment curtains were open and rested on either side of the windows. To her right was the closet where Rohit stood and beside it was another door which she assumed was the washroom.
