Amit and Rohit entered the office building. Amit led Rohit first to the conference room. There was a meeting which Amit wanted Rohit to attend as well. The meeting was to begin at Nine O' Clock sharp. There were ten minutes still left for the meeting to begin.
Rohit was exchanging pleasantries with certain managerial persons and board members when he noticed her enter. She was dressed in the conventional business attire a navy blue skirt topped with a quarter sleeved white shirt. She also wore a blazer that matched her skirt. She paired the look with black heels. She had worn her hair down and carried a black purse hanging on her forearm.
At the moment she was far from the innocent girl he had met in college or the fun loving girl he had seen at the party a few days back. She had elegance and poise in her style. He could not help but stare at her as she spoke to his father with a smile.
Ahem.
Rohit was bought out of his trance as Chirag stepped beside him.
"Hello Rohit." Chirag put forward his hand. He was dressed up sharp as well in a classic black suit.
"Hello Chirag." Rohit shook is hand. "How are you?"
"I am good. How was London?"
"It was great."
Chirag nodded. "So now are you back for good?"
"I do not know. I am still understanding the ways of this industry. Also there seem to be new people my father has been associating with. Some of whom I had not expected."
"Sometimes the unexpected itself bring the best results." Chirag replied.
"That can be only said with time and experience. One seems to have already faltered." Rohit stated.
"But the other could regain the credence."
"Gentlemen!"
Their conversation was interrupted as Amit called out for the attention of everyone.
"I would request you all to take your seats so as to begin."
The meeting went on for more than an hour. It was regarding a Joint Venture proposed by Mr Mehta across the three companies for a construction project.
Post the meeting everyone headed for refreshments.
"Hello sir." The server girl greeted Rohit with a broad smile.
Rohit nodded.
"How would you like your coffee sir?"
"Black with a spoonful of sugar." Diya answered for him.
Rohit's gaze turned to Diya. She was standing close beside him. He could smell her sweet perfume.
"Hi Rohit."
"Hi."
But before she could even say anything further, he picked his cup and walked away.
He was supposed to hate her loathe her presence. But on the contrary her presence made him feel warm. When they shook hands prior to the meeting, he felt a current run through his veins.
How can her presence still affect me in this manner? I need to distract my mind. I have to stay away from her or she is bound to destroy me from within again.
