The sun was shining brightly with a small constant breeze making the flowers sway. Sounds of children laughter could be heard as they played at the playground. Adults talking about their families as they watched their children play together. Many other things could be heard like birds chirping, shop owners talking with customer, and water drops as the rocks being thrown by teens skip across the pond, and the light footsteps being made by Genma and I. No conversation or even a hum has left either of us since we've left the house. Neither of us talked simply because we were enjoying each other's company.

After about another five minutes of silence Genma finally spoke up. "One of the teams that are participating today I think you'll like the most is team 7." I turned my head slightly to look up at him. "Why do you say that?" He gave out a small chuckle as he looked down at me in the corner of his eye. "There's a kid on that team, you may know or rather heard of him, his name is Naruto Uzumaki or some refer to him as the knuckle head ninja." I'd occasionally look straight to make sure I didn't walk into anything. "Oh, I think I've heard of him before but why do you think I'll like his team the most?' I asked still not fully understanding. "He has a team mate that is basically a rival so they will probably be trying to outdo each other as well." I gave a small giggle. "So what you're saying is this kid is not only competing against other teams but his own team member as well?" I asked trying not to laugh that much. "That's right." Genma confirmed my thoughts of what I thought would happen later "That's great."

It wasn't long until we reached the outside of the stadium. Walking in I saw many different booths selling different types of snacks like popcorn, ice cream, nachos, soft pretzels, and drinks. There was even a booth selling hamburgers and hot dogs. As usual not letting anything get passed him. Genma noticed me eyeing the gigantic pretzels. "Do you want one?" Taking my eyes off of the mouthwatering snack, I looked over to Genma. "Can we share one?" I asked knowing I wouldn't be able to finish the whole thing by myself. "Sure thing, I'll get it after we get our seats. Do you want anything to drink too?" He asked. "Waters fine." I answered.

We continued to walk for a little longer down the long hall. You could see a big open space that led outside. Before we reached the field that was surround by more than a hundred bleachers. I noticed a kid running down the hall from the opening that led outside. I wrapped my arms around Genma's elbow since he was walking with his hands in his pocket. I moved as close to him as I could, slightly hugging him. So I wouldn't get plowed over by the kid charging our way as if he was being chased by a dozen of bulls. As he ran passed us he yelled. "Move out of the way I gotta GO!" Trying to warn anyone and everyone up ahead, I couldn't help myself from laughing. "Is that the kid?" Genma gave a smirk. "You guessed it."

We finally reached our seats and was greeted well Genma was greeted by his fellow shinobi buddies. Most asking who I was, the only one I knew here was Asuma. "Hey how you doing Genma I see life's treating ya good with a pretty lady." I hid slightly behind Genma as a very loud guy in a green jump suit spoke with enough joy in his voice to last a lifetime, spoke to Genma. "Uh- yeah this is Ali, Marcy's granddaughter." Before Genma could continue he was interrupted. "My I knew Marcy said you were beautiful, but I never imagined this breathe taking." I blushed at the green jumpsuit guy's compliment. Noticing how slightly uncomfortable I was starting to get Genma changed the subject. "Any way this is Ali, Ali these are some of the other Jounin's of the village. The guy in green is Guy my former teammate, Asuma who you know, the only female here is Kurenai, and my good friend Raidou."

After introducing me to everyone Genma spoke up once again. "I'm going to go grab our snacks before they start I'll be right back." He told me before starting to walk away but stopping when Raidou smirked and said. "Don't worry I'll watch over your girlfriend." I didn't hear what he said but I don't think I want because Raidou was still smirking, Guy, Asuma, and Kurenai were chuckling and Genma left blushing and shaking his head to whatever was said.

About ten minutes later Genma returned with a pretzel, cheese sauce, two water bottles, and a bunch of napkins. He split the pretzel in half perfectly and handed me one of the halves. We shared the cheese sauce. After taking the first bite I couldn't help but express how great the pretzel was. "Damn! This has to be the best pretzel I've ever had." Genma couldn't help but laugh at my description of the pretzel. "It is pretty damn good." He said coolly.

It's about half way through the games, so far we've all laughed and the ninja's cheered to the kids that were on the field. I was so glad I came. Grandma was right. I had nothing to worry about. This definitely one of the best... I was brought out of my thoughts when a soft warm hand gently wrapped around my own. I looked up at Genma but not in fear, it was shock, than I looked down at our hands, and finally back to the field. Slowly I inhaled, as I began to exhale I slowly connected my fingers with his. I didn't have to look to see that he was smiling, I could feel it in the grip of his hand. The two of us where in a world of our own that we didn't notice his friends watching over us like he was their son on his first date.

It was the last lap of the final race whichever team won this, won the competition. Here it was the winner is... "I can't believe he won." I said not believing what I just witnessed. I'm pretty sure I spoke for everyone because it was dead silent until roar of cheers awoke the arena. The kid known as Naruto just won his team a week off of missions. He tried to run off the field which he tried to do multiple times today. He was explaining something but in the end gave up and did something no one expected. I couldn't believe it, I hid my face in Genma's chest. If he needed to use the restroom he should have just said so. "I think we should head out." I heard Genma say. I just nodded standing up. "I-it was nice meeting you all." I said to the group I had just met earlier that day. "Nice meeting you too." Kurenai responded for the whole group while the rest smiled at me. "You two are leaving so soon?" Guy asked. Genma bit down on his senbon before answering. "Yeah, were going to dinner." Guy did his famous diamond flash smile while giving a thumbs up. "No need to say anymore, you two have fun on your date!" I don't think I've ever blushed this much since I've came to the leaf village.
