The hospital had released me once they thought I had gotten strong enough but the same wasn't said for Kaden, as he had to stay in for a couple more days to make sure that he would be able to breathe on his own and he wouldn't have any problems as far as development was concerned. It was hard leaving Kaden there while I went home and showered, but I trusted Miles to go to the hospital and stay there to make sure he's alright. After having showers and such, I would go back to the hospital every time; I was just too protective over him.
Tristan hasn't come back to see his son but I couldn't be too sure because there was too many presents for Kaden and I'm pretty sure that Miles didn't make two necklaces for Kaden. Kaden wasn't allowed to wear the necklaces because one, he was still a new-born and two, they were a little too big for him but they were such adorable presents which he could wear when he's older. Miles and everyone else was hiding the fact that Tristan has been at the hospital because they thought I was angry that he walked out and don't get me wrong because I was angry and still am, but he has come back and even if I'm not there, he has come to see his son.
Today was the day I got to bring Kaden home, home being the place where Tristan lives but he hasn't been here for a while so it has just been me. Layla said she would help me get the stuff from the hospital back into the house even when I insisted that she doesn't have to do anything but she wouldn't listen to me, she said that my hoo-ha had to get better so I can't do much.
It made me cringe whenever she talked about my lower region and the things it has been through, it is really gross how much stuff you go through after labour but I'm happy that I got a baby out of there instead of my stomach.
'I'm just saying that Miles or me should stay at the house since Tristan isn't there. It's not going to be for long, Kihanna just think about it.' Layla made a right turn before continuing on why she or Miles should stay at the house with me while I looked out the window in hopes that she would just leave it. 'With you bringing the baby home, God knows what could happen! Just think about it okay?'
I was having thoughts about having someone stay with me in the house but for now, I just wanted to have some time with Kaden but I wasn't going to tell them that because it sounded too stupid to say something like that since it was spending time with Kaden verses our safety. Layla turned into the hospital parking and dropped me off at the front entrance as usual while she went to hunt down a parking space in this busy filled area.
My lower region still hurt but I was okay with walking about even though things were kind of messy and I just felt like lying in bed doing nothing apart from staring at Kaden, which was going to be done.
Waving hello to the receptionists and some doctors, I pressed the lift key to go up. A couple people were waiting for the lift too making my heart beat a little faster than normal. Ever since I had Kaden, I would get this uncomfortable feeling that someone was watching me or someone was out to get both me and Kaden but that feeling has been there when I was at home. Sometimes I would wake up at the hospital, making sure that Kaden was still there and somebody hadn't kidnapped him. The lift pinged open making me turn towards the elevator and step inside.
Once it opened, I and another woman got off as well as a nurse who gave me a small smile as she had seen me around. I walked towards the NICU ward where there were many parents, single parents with babies; while I was away, Miles, Leah and sometimes even Kieron would be there to make sure that Kaden was alright. Kieron was someone who I still didn't trust but he was good with Kaden so I let him stay there just as long as Leah or Miles or Layla was there. Miles lifted up his head to look at something then spotted me, waving me over.
'Hey, I'll get the nurse to make sure Kade can go.' Kade was Miles' name for Kaden and it was adorable. I nodded to him then took a seat in the chair Miles was sitting at while looking at my baby boy who was moving around a little, looking at his surroundings. He had big eyes and a little tiny mouth as well as a cute nose! Who am I kidding? This baby is cute all over and I'm pretty sure he got his eyes from his dad while his hair was from me.
'If you guys can wait outside, mommy and daddy can stay with me while I get this cutie here ready.' The nurse looked at all of us but mostly looked at me and Kieron as if we were together, he didn't even open his mouth to say that we weren't together and just as I was about to say that, a voice behind me said something, 'Sure. Come on Ki.'
Shock filled everyone's faces once they saw and heard Tristan's voice behind me but I didn't get a chance to look at him because he was pushing me to follow the nurse. It was quiet in the room with me and Tristan standing on opposite sides of the room while the nurse got Kaden ready in the little outfit I got for him to wear. So many questions were going through my mind as I looked on the floor or more like glared at it; I could feel Tristan's eyes burning holes through me but I refused to look up, I only just squirmed under his gaze.
'Let me just bring a couple things and some release papers and you should be fine.' The nurse smiled at the two of us before walking out of the room. It didn't take me long to take the first step towards Kaden who was gurgling and making small noises while moving about, Tristan did the same and we bumped into each other a little and even with that little bump, it sent jolts of heat through me making me step away from him.
'We're going in my car.' I didn't say anything as I held Kaden's hand. 'Are you listening to me?' Tristan's question still left me in silence and I didn't bother to answer him as there was no point, what would I say? Suddenly, I was turned around with Tristan's hand gripping my upper arms.
'What do you want me to say Tristan? Layla can take me home too, it's not like you're coming home to take care of our kid! You'll probably just walk out once he starts crying!' I didn't mean to have a go at him but there was little anger inside me just begging me to just let out my anger so that I wouldn't have to yell anymore. 'It was a mistake okay! I'm sorry that I walked out, I really am but I didn't know how to react so I just saw Kaden when you weren't here!' I wasn't surprised that he knew Kaden's name but I just didn't feel like saying anything else because at least he saw his son.
'Okay here you go.' I signed the release papers as did Tristan. I smiled down at Kaden while he looked at me with his big eyes, which was before Tristan kissed Kaden and put him in his car. 'You two be safe alright? Call me when you get home, Ki. Anything happens with this idiot, call me.' Miles said, pulling me in for a hug and kissing my forehead. I don't know why I was getting so emotional but I just didn't want to let go of my brother but my son's little cries brought me out of my emotional state and I wiped a tears that escaped the corner of my eye.
'I will, I promise.' I said smiling at all of them. After hugging each of them, Kieron stepped forward to hug me just as Tristan and Layla pulled away from hugging. 'Call me too.' He whispered in my ear making me feel slightly uncomfortable as all of them were looking at the two of us hug.
'We have to go now.' Tristan's voice came out rough and sharp and for once, I was thankful that he did something because I didn't like hugging Kieron. He just gave me bad feelings and a spine tingling shiver which I didn't like too. As I got in the car, I waved to the others (barring Kieron) who got into their car and we drove away from the hospital.
'Are you staying with us tonight?' I asked Tristan while keeping my eyes on a sleeping Kaden. 'Yeah.' That one worded answer just brought me more grief and I wondered what it would be like to stay at home with him and our baby boy. A part of me was happy that I had someone else in the hoarse with me but another part of me just didn't want this side of Tristan to stay at home with us. I let out a sigh before looking out the window, making sure to look in the side mirror to make sure that Kaden was okay; he was my only priority right now.
