Each day, my belly had grown bigger and I was starting to get more restless and frustrated because my stomach was making me feel more uncomfortable; it even got to the point where my stomach was so big that some of my clothes wouldn't fit me no more and on top of that, it was much more hotter and we still haven't got the baby's stuff ready apart from his room!
Tristan had gotten used to my moods, so had everyone else apart from Layla who had always scolded me when I started an attitude with her. What was a relaxing this was that Leah had organised a baby shower for the baby making life a little more comfortable because that meant that I didn't have to go out and buy more stuff or I didn't have to waste Tristan's money, even though he insisted that I wasn't wasting his money.
Tristan wasn't happy about having a whole bunch of random strangers come to the house, especially with the risk of knowing some of them or an attack happening so we decided to have it at a local hall and it would be from 2pm-6pm which was okay for everyone since it was a Sunday.
Friends were coming, a lot of people from the bakery were coming and even my old neighbours were going to bother to come, even some people that Leah knew were coming! It truly felt like I had a bunch of people by my side, even if I didn't know some of them and this is a weird thing to say but it's true.
I decided to wear a maternity kaftan (google it) with some white sandals and a top underneath as well as loose fitted shorts since it was hot out. I braided my hair to the side and added light make up to my face because it was really scorching outside and being inside was going to make it worse. Coming to think of it, I think Tristan was going to bring in some girls he knew and I'm guessing the girls he knew probably had caked filled make up on their faces...pregnancy brain is effecting me a lot. The mirror was the number one thing I liked to look at throughout my pregnancy and it became so addicting that I didn't know why but I'm guessing it was the fact that my bay was growing inside of me.
Twirling one last time in the mirror, I smirked at myself knowing that Tristan wouldn't like what I wore even with the necklace and earrings that seemed would catch anyone's eye, he will still hate it. I groaned as I started walking then held my back as I continued to walk to my purse and sunglasses which were on the table beside my bed, the bed that I had to myself since I didn't want to share with Tristan no matter how many time he said that he was doing it for the baby and not for me. Cocky bastard. Once I did get both my purse and shades, I set my shades on my head and walked out of my room and groaned once again as I looked down at the flight of stairs I had to walk down in.
'Need help?' I almost yelped at the sound of Tristan's voice near me, but the fact that his hands were on my waist made me more calm than I ever had been around him which did make me antsy since I didn't like it but the baby did. I shook my thoughts away before prying off Tristan's hands and holding onto the railing then saying, 'I can go down the stairs just fine, thanks.' Before I made my way down the stairs. Like a snail.
'I'll see you in an hour, speedy.' Tristan said sarcastically, chuckling before he whizzed passed me as I continued to walk down the stairs slowly. Once I had reached the last step, I heard clapping coming from in front of me and when I looked up, I saw Tristan leaning against the wall with a smug smile but a bored look on his face as he watched me.
'Congratulations, you've made it to the next round. Now hurry up before I carry you.' He had a monotone voice throughout the sentence making me want to rebel against his command but even with my weight now, I knew he could carry me without struggling or getting out of breath easily. Trying to at least speed up my walking, I made it to the car in 5 minutes rather than 8 which is the normal time it takes me to walk to the car...devastating, I know.
We had gotten to the hall in about 10 minutes with traffic which was quite good since it was nearing around 1:50pm meaning that some guests should be coming in soon and I just had to make sure everything was alright and not too flamboyant, I don't even know if that was the right word since it was Leah and Layla doing all the organizing and both had very different views on what go together but in the end, yeah no in the end one of them is going to end up gone.
Once Tristan helped me out of the car with a look that could mean anything but two that stood out were frustration and/or sly. Ignoring whatever he looks he gave me, I walked towards the hall which was not too far away from where the car was parked and walked inside and was instantly met by lots of balloons even though there were a couple outside but now it was like balloon land because there was lots of balloons saying "It's a boy!"...calm down dudes, my kid hasn't even been born yet.
Walking in further, I decided to have an adventure and it looked like both females did a great job with everything because nothing looked out of place and nothing looked odd to me. Everything was blue, chairs were out and there was tables for food and presents with a blue tablecloth covering the table and now I was starting to think that they might have gone over the blue theme.
'Hey!' I turned around and greeted Aimee who wore something that wasn't blue for her clothing but those paper rings that were blue were around her neck. We both hugged then pulled away smiling and she asked me, 'doesn't this place look amazing?!'
'Yeah! It's like I was sucked in to a blue planet...a planet with only blue.' I muttered towards the end as I gave the hall another look but in all honesty I loved it. My smile widened as I saw people coming in with gift bags in their hands, greeting Layla, Leah and then looking towards me with a huge smile and I returned the gesture waving at them.
'You are so lucky to have people like them in your life. I seriously think that there isn't going to be enough space, look how many people there are!' I laughed at Aimee's comment as I did watch the masses of people come into the hall. 'I am thankful to have them in my life, but I'm also thankful for having you here too.' I said. She looked at me and it was like tears were about to fall from her eyes but I stopped them by pulling her in for a hug while laughing.
'Kihanna! I haven't seen you in ages.' I pulled away from Aimee to see a guy around my age or maybe older coming closer to me and Aimee, flashing a big smile at us showing off his perfect set of shiny, white teeth. 'Karl?' I asked. I vaguely remember him from college, he was the guy that had mostly everything from cars, to girls, to getting good grades plus he was good looking but never in my eyes.
By the time I had thanked everyone for coming, I realised that it was only 4pm meaning we had wasted 2 hours trying to greet everyone here and say thank you. By we, I meant Tristan and I and trust me, it took a lot for me to convince him to actually get up and walk around instead of talking to Blake and his friends that he bought. Luckily, he didn't bring too slutty girls here but he did bring some and those were the girl friends he was talking to me about and I definitely think that they didn't bring anything for me, just brought themselves and displayed themselves in front of the guys trying to act cool.
'I'm going to the bathroom, it's so nice to see you again!' It really wasn't, these people fired me from my first job because I didn't wear the correct dress code and it has always bugged me because I have and on that first day, I decided to wear a brown hair tie which only got me in trouble. I pulled Tristan back with me and he seemed to look less cold than he normally does since he is with normal human beings which was weird but also nice since he was trying.
'I need to pee, I'll be back in a minute.' I whispered to him while eyeing the food on the table, as soon as I finish peeing I'm coming back and eating a tonne. As I was about to go towards the bathroom, Tristan grabbed me wrist pulling me to him and kissed me so passionately in front of everyone that I heard the chatter die down and when we both pulled away - or when I pushed myself away-most looked in our direction with a smile on their face, something I had to return.
Tristan had a smirk on his face and winked at me as I turned to go. My face was beetroot red which was redder than I normally am, even after I peed. Giggling to myself, I walked out the bathroom only to be pulled into a wall with someone who was hovering over me and me being me, I thought it was Tristan but in fact it had turned out to be Kieron.
He looked down at me with adoration filling his eyes and a small smile tugging at his lips as he took in my feature, right now I couldn't move nor could I find myself to say anything because I feared what he was going to do.
'You look beautiful Kihanna.' I felt his hand trail up my leg, leaving a trail of coldness in his path. He leaned down and I moved my head to one side, feeling his lips on my cheek placing a soft chaste kiss on it before moving back and smiling at me. 'I left you a present that I hope you will like, Anna.'
With that he left and was replaced by Tristan who gave me one look and placed a hand on my other cheek which did leave a good feeling behind. 'You look pale, are you okay?' I gave him a shaky smile as I nodded.
'Let's go back.' I said, hesitantly.
