Five days after Christmas was the day when Lucas and his boyfriend arrived. I couldn't believe that i was going to see my favorite cousin again after only two months. It made me incredibly happy.

"Are you nervous?" I heard Even ask.

"Why would i be?"

"Don't know, maybe because you are jumping around the house like a fucking kangaroo?"

I noticed it, and stopped walking. He was right.
Lucas would be here any minute, and i was rather excited than nervous.
This was the thing i had always dreamed about. Getting to spend my Christmas break with my favorite persons.
The doorbell rang, and i froze in my place immediately. Even just laughed at me, pinching my cheek before running to open the door.

"Well, hello there!"

I heard Even welcome the two boys, and the three of them appeared into the kitchen a while after.

The first thing i saw was my cousin's  wide smile, and he looked happier than he ever had. His hair had grown a little longer, and arms a little stronger.
Then i noticed the taller, dark brown haired boy next to him. He wasn't smiling as much as Lucas, but he looked happy too.

"Wow, you're not going to say anything and just stare at us in peace? How rude!" Lucas' words made me woke up from my own thoughts, and get up from the chair i had been sitting on.

"It's great to see you, cousin." I hugged him before turning to face the other boy.

"And you must be the difficult boyfriend of Lucas'."

"Isak!"

"Oh, should i be honored? Just call me Eliott." The boy answered to my humor with humor.

I nodded, before we all sat down and talked stuff out. Mostly about how Lucas and i were both probably failing all of our classes in school, and what was Eliott's and Lucas' life together in France like.

"So, have you talked with your parents?" Lucas suddenly changed the topic.

I swallowed the candy i had in my mouth, feeling it get stuck in my throat. I turned to look at Even, who tried to tell me not to panic through our eye-contact.

"No. I haven't heard anything about them." It was hard, trying to get the words out.

The fact that this was our family's first Christmas ever not being together made me feel unexplainable pain on my chest. I had missed mom, a lot actually. But i could never forgive dad, even if he accepted me for being the person who i am.

"Yeah, i see. The last time was pretty difficult." Lucas added.

I looked at Eliott, who seemed to pay attention more to his phone instead of Lucas and i. I didn't know how much my cousin had talked to him about me and my life here, but i think i wouldn't mind at all if he knew literally everything. It's not like he was going to do anything with the information he gets, right? Eliott was a good guy, or at least i wanted to believe so.

"There isn't going to be any drama for over a week." I sighed happily.

"That's right. I honestly can't imagine."

It was clearly too early for that.
I heard our doorbell ringing twice, and froze on my place. I changed looks with Even, before getting up and walking to open the door.
I almost passed out when i saw the two people standing in front of me.

"Is Isak Valtersen here?" The other man said.

I swallowed slowly. Two police officers in dark blue uniforms were at my house, asking for me. Every single bad and illegal thing i had ever done in my life crossed my mind.
