Ms. Understanding (Bokuto x Reader)

Ch. 2 the plan

At lunch, you and (bff) decided to sit in the court yard for once because of the nice weather. You were talking about the usual. Video games you guys have played, youtubers you've watched recently, and manga you've read recently. As you were talking about an up and coming vlogger, Akaashi shows up.
"Hey Akaashi, what's up?"
You ask, (bff's) face turns pink as she smiles shyly at him.
"O-oh I was wondering if you two would like to come to practice with Bokuto and me today..."
He asked looking away with a tinge of pink on his cheeks.
"O-oh, really? W-well... maybe nex-"
Before (bff) could finish you cut in.
"We would love to!"
You knew that you couldn't stay even though you actually wanted to see how they practice... you've loved volleyball since you were a kid so it made you kind of sad that you couldn't go today.
"Okay great! We'll meet you outside your classroom at the end of the day."
Akaashi said and walked off. You then had to get an earful for the rest of lunch.

Bokuto's POV

Bokuto's heart skipped a beat hearing that you'd be coming. He'd never tell but he'd been thinking about you since this morning and to know that you'd accepted the invitation made him giddy. But this wasn't the time to get excited over a girl he barely knew, he had a plan to get their best friends together and he needed you to help with it. And by god when bokuto wants something he gets it.

Your POV

It was now the end of the school day and you had officially crashed. Your mood was down but you played it off as you were just tired. 'Man... this sucks... I should go home now...' you think as you head for the door. But who should appear, but Akaashi and Bokuto... great... seeing Bokuto brings your mood down more than it already was which is surprising since it was already damn near rock bottom.
"Sorry I gotta go."
You say trying to leave. But a wild Bokuto blocks your path. (Bff) was about to speak but you spoke first.
"Move."
You said with a cold, empty tone. Surprised by this, Bokuto takes a step back and you walk out the door. As you near the school's entrance, tears start streaming down your face. You hear a voice from behind call your name, but you tune it out and walk faster. Not even turning around to see Bokuto running after you.
"W-wait!"
He shouts as he grabs your arm. He turns you around and notices that you're crying immediately. He freezes as he stares in shock.
"H-hey... w-whats wrong? Why are you crying?"
He says sounding honestly concerned which surprised you.
"Its nothing, it just happens sometimes..."
You say trying to turn away. He wasn't letting you go so you sighed.
"Look. I'm fine I'm just tired. Can I go home now?"
"Let me walk you home?"
He says looking a little hopeful.
"Not a chance. Don't you have practice?"
His eyes go wide but he holds his ground.
"Come with me to practice. (Bff) is worried about you. You can nap there I promise!"
He says not even waiting for an answer before dragging you back to the school.
"Wai- bu- I-... ugh fine."
You say as you follow willingly. He walks back to the school triumphantly and tries to start a conversation. And start a conversation he did.
"So... about (bff) and Akaashi..."
He says with a hint of mischief. You perk up almost immediately, eyes curious, yet, suspicious.
"What about them?"
You ask with a similar tone.
"Well... I have a plan to get them together!"
You smirk a bit
"This pleases me. Alright, you've gained my attention."
He begins to tell you about his plan which he calls 'operation ship name Akaa(bff)'
"So basically we set them up on a blind date"
"Uh-huh..."
"And we pretend that they're completely different people and we tell them all these things that they actually have in common. Then they'll be REALLY excited and happy to finally meet but then they find out its them and then they live happily ever after!"
"Wow. I'm surprised you came up with such a good idea by yourself!"
You say honestly LOVING the idea.
"I know right!?! Wait... what?"
He says doing an overly dramatic offended pose which makes you laugh. This was going to be an interesting experience...
