Ms. Understanding (Bokuto x Reader)

CH. 15 A Very Awkward Day. (and a quick update.)

(A/N)- Just a quick update, I'm sorry that I haven't been keeping up with the story!!! I got distracted by school and then started working on other projects!!! I have a new story currently, it is a MHAxReader fanfic and I think it turned out pretty good so far, it currently has 13 parts, and is a TodoBakuDeku story, some parts not published yet and still a work in progress. There is also the Oikawa fanfic if you guys want to read that while I finish up here. I will be trying to update more frequently while also doing school so excuse some missed updates in the future... now... the moment you've all been waiting for... THE UPDATE!!!! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o

Breakfast was very, and I mean VERY awkward for you. You avoided eye contact with the golden eyed boy throughout and (bff) took every chance she could afterward to make fun of how red your face got.

"C'mon (bff) it wasn't THAT bad!!!" you whined as she continued to tease you, she just laughed at this. You huffed until you saw said owl coming over for a water bottle, your face going back to a flushed state as you averted his gaze and gave him what he needed. (bff) laughed even harder as he walked away confused as to why you weren't really talking to him. You tried avoiding him throughout training as much as you could not realizing he was getting more confused and sad. While making lunch with the other managers, (bff) came up to me sheepishly,

"Um... hey I-I'm sorry for teasing you so much but... ah... Bokuto seems upset..." I look at her quizzically,

"Really? I di-" you stopped yourself midsentence, what were you gonna say, you didn't notice? You've barely looked at the guy all day! "Um... I'll apologize to him then, I don't even know why I've been avoiding him to be honest." You really didn't know and it was bothering you he was your friend, and he didn't really do anything wrong! It's just... looking at him made you feel weird now...

"I think I know why if you don't mind me butting in," Yachi said with a small smile on her face. It made you uneasy because the other two girls were also giving you that same look.

"I definitely know what's going on!" (bff) chimed in, you did not like where this was going...

BOKUTO'S POV

After breakfast and during practice I noticed that (y/n) wasn't really talking to me, or looking at me for that matter! Did I do something wrong? Is she mad at me for some reason? WHAT DID I DO?!?!?!?! It looked like her and (bff) were fine, but whenever I would go over for water or a towel or just to talk she was practically avoiding me! I could tell that it was affecting my performance during the scrimmages. Soon they left with the other managers to go and make lunch, but the way she was acting was still stuck in my mind.

(Y/N) POV

Lunch was no longer in progress as you were now surrounded by the other managers. You began to sweat as you realized what (bff) was about to say,

"You're acting the same way I was when I realized I had feelings for Akaashi!" She said it. She said the one thing I knew she was going to say. My face erupted in flames as she pointed this out.

"NO! Th-there's n-no way! H-he's just a friend... Yeah he's super sweet and funny and... and..." you sigh as you realize you have feelings for the guy. He was attractive for sure, but what really drew you towards him was the fact that he truly understood you, he knew how to make you laugh, and bring you out of your shell. And you felt like you could understand him. You put your face in your hands, "Okay... I guess I have some feelings for him..." The girls cooed and awed at my confession. before we realized that we still needed to finish up lunch. As we got the last of the food prepared, the boys began filing in. They filled their plates and you saw Akaashi and Bokuto walk in with the rest of the team. You wanted to duck your head, but realized that if you were going to get closer to Bokuto, hiding was not an option anymore. You took a deep breath and when Bokuto looked your way, you waved with a sheepish smile. Your breath hitched slighlty as you saw his eyes light up at the small friendly gesture. It seemed he didn't believe it was for him at first as he did a doubletake. After realizing that what he saw was real, he gave a big grin and waved back. I giggled slightly as I felt my face heat up. (bff) nudged me and my face heated up more. They grabbed their food and once everyone was served, you and (bff) grabbed your food and sat down with the two. You decided to speak up first, remembering what was waiting for you four after this, "You guys excited to go to Okayama after this?" The three nodded in unison, Bokuto the most optimistic about it. He was clearly excited to go on a trip with friends. As the four of you were talking about this trip, you remembered that you still needed to apologize to Bokuto about avoiding him all morning. "Ah, hey Bokuto," you said and he turned to you. "Can I talk to you after lunch for a minute?" He nodded hesitantly. The four of you finished lunch quickly after that, not realizing that (bff) was gonna give you a taste of your own medicine during the trip to your grandparents if you didn't confess soon.

(BFF) POV

As (y/n) dragged Bokuto away after they finished their lunches, I turned to Akaashi.

"So... what does Bokuto think of (y/n)?" I asked and he nearly choked on his food, He turned to me with a look of shock on his face.

"I think it's pretty obvious that he likes her a lot... why?" I smirk in an almost sinister fashion, Akaashi is now regretting saying anything about Bokuto's feelings,

"Would you say that he was pretty distraught about the fact that (y/n) was avoiding him?" He hesitated before nodding slowly. "Wanna know why she was avoiding him?" repeating the same action as before my smirk turned into a grin. "It's because she likes him too... so are you thinking what I'm thinking?" He shakes his head, not understanding for a moment, I sigh, "remember the stunt they pulled during the movie marathon?" He nodded, still confused, his eyes widened in shock as he was about to most likely say no. I grabbed his hand and looked at him, "Please? It'll be fun and what's the worst that'll happen? We won't do it here obviously but... Y'know?" he sighed knowing he wasn't going to win with me.

"Fine, but if it doesn't work out don't come crying to me about it." I smile triumphantly, knowing that my awesome plan won't fail! Prepare yourselves (y/n) and Bokuto, because it's payback time in the sweetest most romantic way possible!
