Ch. 12 The Truth Comes Out (Part 2/2)

BOKUTO'S POV

I couldn't get to sleep that night thinking about her. The way her eyes looked just so... empty. It hurt so much to see her like that. I want to tell her the truth. I want her to know I have the same problem, that I'm in the same boat. I just want to see her smile again. How do I talk to her about this. I sigh as I walk down stairs,
"Whats wrong, Koutarou?"
My mom asked while making breakfast.
"I-I don't know, ma... It's just one of my friends has the same issue as me but..."
I sigh again, poking my food with my fork. She smiles at me before sitting down,
"Sweetie, sometimes just showing you care and that you're with them speaks more that your own words."
She says before looking at the clock,
"You might want to get going, Keiji will be here any minute!"
I smiled as I ate my food putting my dish in the sink afterwards. I kissed her on the cheek before heading out the door. As I walk with Akaashi, we see (bff) and (y/n) walk around the corner. We had been walking together for a while now, but things were different this time around. With Akaashi dating (bff) and the awkward tension between me and (y/n), it was an awkward walk for a bit to say the least. I couldn't tell if (y/n) wanted to talk or if she just wanted to be left alone. I decided to pull out my phone and show her a video that Kuroo had sent me of a group of baby owls following their care taker around. She laughed and awed at them. I felt relieved that she wasn't mad at me. I came up with an idea,
"We should all go out to that cafe we went to the first time we all hung out together!"
I said suddenly. (Bff) and Akaashi stared at us for a moment.
"I mean... I got nothing to do so I'm down."
(Y/n) said with a shrug. (Bff) spoke up first.
"Ummm... I'm sorry guys but Akaashi and I are having a movie date tonight otherwise we would!"
She said genuinely sorry. I turned to (y/n) who shrugged,
"I mean I'll still go if you want to!"
She said with a smile. I nodded as we entered the school.

(Y/N)'S POV

Its not that you didn't like Bokuto, you liked that he was hyper and kind of obnoxious. You were just scared since you took him for a blabbering owl looking kid. He was always loud and had some interesting mood swings, he reminded you of yourself in some aspects. You were scared though, you thought he would out you the second he saw your medication. If he asks about it you decided to just say it was birth control or it was for acne or something like that to explain your embarrasment. The bell rang, signaling that the school day was over, you hadn't paid much attention in class since you were worried. (Bff) came up from behind you
"Soooo... you excited for your date with Bokuto?~"
She said in a teasing manner,
"Oh fuck off its not a date, we're just two friends getting coffee!"
You said with a laugh even though your face had a very light shade of pink on it.
"Sssuuuuurrrreeee it issssssss~"
She said still teasing you. You guys were doing your basic managerial duties when you heard the ball slam on the ground.
"AKAASHIIIIII! DONT TOSS TO ME ANYMORE IM BRINGING THE WHOLE TEAM DOWN!"
The team just sighed at this and continued the game like before just not tossing to Bokuto. This happened normally but... something was off. It wasn't like the Nekoma practice match, it was something else. It was a bit more... normal, than that one. He still did the usual stuff, but he just looked lost in thought. Practice was finally over and you walked over to Bokuto with a towel and water bottle. Your bag was already swung over your shoulder and a small smile on your face,
"Meet me outside the gym when you're ready to go, I'll pay today!"
He looked at you and grinned.
"HEY HEY HEY!!!"
He said loudly with his fists in the air before pulling you into a sweaty side hug. You cringed a bit, but laughed, relieved he was back to himself. You walked out of the gym before sitting on the steps waiting for Bokuto. You hear the doors open and see Akaashi and (bff)
"Oh hey guys, heading to your movie date now?"
You asked as they walked.
"Yeah, we're gonna go see one of the newer movies that came out, but Akaashi won't tell me which one though!"
(Bff) huffed playfully, Akaashi laughed slightly. You thought it was cute how they brought out each others personalities more. Akaashi wasn't as reserved and (bff) was more caring, it was nice to see them together.
"Well have fun you two don't stay out too late or you're grounded, (bff)!"
You shouted as they left. (Bff) flicked you off and you laughed. Soon, Bokuto came out and saw you,
"Ready to go?"
You asked standing up. He nodded and off you went. The walk there was peaceful, although it was a bit chilly, you shivered slightly before pulling out a jacket. You decided to check the weather and maybe change to your winter uniform depending on the weather. You turned to see Bokuto shivering as well, you laughed slightly as he insisted that he was fine. When you both got to the cafe, you ordered and sat down. As you drank your coffee, he looked at you curiously.
"What?"
You asked with a laugh. You were kind of nervous since you knew he was going to ask you about the medicine. What took you by surprise though, was how he said it.
"I understand why you don't want anyone to know about your mood stabilizers, but know that you don't have to do this alone."

ou were confused until he pulled out a matching bottle, wearing a smile on his face. You looked at the bottle he placed on the table, and saw the same prescription with the only difference being the name and thr dosage. You were shocked, to say the least, mostly left speechless. You didn't know how to feel, you wanted to run away, cry, yell, and just cease to exist. He noticed your eyes welling up with tears almost right away and started to panic.
"Wait! I-I didn't mean for it to sound bad!"
You could tell he meant good intentions, but it came out the wrong way. You took a deep breath and calmed down a bit. You let out a breathy laugh,
"This would definitely explain some of your mood swings..."
You mumbled as you dried your eyes with your sleeve. He smiled slightly and sighed in relief. You both finished your drinks and as you went to pay he stopped you, and pulled out his wallet.
"Hey I thought I was paying!"
You said in a light-hearted tone.
"Nope! I've caused enough trouble tonight!"
He said, you both playfully fought over the bill, you losing in the end. You pouted slightly but then laughed. He offered to walk you home and you gladly accepted. As you reached the door, he grabbed your wrist and pulled you into a hug.
"I know the delivery was off, but remember, you're not alone."
You smiled and hugged him back. He let go and you went inside as he walked away. A small blush formed on your face as you lay in bed and you smile when you recieved a text from Bokuto saying that he got home safe. You sigh before falling into a peaceful sleep.
