"I-I can't do this." you said while gripping onto your phone nervously. You felt a sense of insecurity as Joy stared at you for a moment before taking a deep breath.

It was a few days after you had told Joy about the neighbor. You decided it would've been too early to invite him to the party the day after seeing him at the supermarket. He probably would think you were a stalker if you asked him so quickly.

So, you asked Namjoon the day Joy got back from the airport instead, holding off on asking the hot neighbor. Him and his wife gladly accepted the invitation and told you they'd be there.

"Okay, we need to talk, Y/N. A serious talk that's been in the works for years now," she started before sitting down on the front steps of your house with you, patting the spot next to her. "You ever wonder how I was able to have fun living in California? I took risks like this, talking to people who may not even be interested in having a conversation with me. I did the exact same thing throughout middle school and high school, too. I know you always feel out of place during parties and stuff, but you don't say anything about it."

"W-what are you talking about, no I don't." you stuttered as you listened to her speaking. She arched an eyebrow before rolling her eyes and putting one of her hands on her face.

"Listen, Y/N. I noticed how you acted at every party and every social gathering we've been to. I've been waiting for you to get the guts to make a risky move like this and try expanding your social circle," she said as she ran her fingers through her hair. "I get this isn't the most normal way to expand your social circle, but it's a start, okay?"

After hearing her words, you took a deep breath before nodding to yourself. You gripped onto your phone tightly and stood up straight, walking down the steps leading to your house and taking a sharp left turn. You paced quickly towards the house next door before walking up those steps and immediately knocked on the door, not giving yourself any moment to chicken out. You waited for a moment as you heard some shuffling inside the house. You immediately fixed your hair and started thinking of an act you could pull.

Okay, Y/N. He doesn't know you're his neighbor and you have to act like you don't know either.

You heard the door unlocking and quickly looked down at the ground, starting to act oblivious to the fact that this man was your neighbor.

"Hi, I just moved in next door and I was wondering if-" you looked up to see him with a surprised look on his face.

The moment you had eye contact with him, you found yourself feeling a sense of nervousness. His silver hair reflected the light of the moon as he stared at you with a surprised expression. As his eyes widened, you noticed how beautiful they were. They were a deep, chocolate brown and the moonlight gave his eyes a slight sparkle. His plump lips looked extra shiny under the moonlight. They were tinted with a light red color and he had a little bit of eyeliner smudged onto his eyes.

He was wearing a pair of black sweatpants and a tight graphic t-shirt with The Beatles on it. The shirt hugged his muscular body well, accentuating the rock-hard abs that you could tell were underneath the shirt. The sleeves around his biceps accentuated the muscles in his arms slightly.

"Hey, you're the guy a-at the grocery store from the other day." you said with a shy smile. You watched as he slowly nodded his head.

Success. Method acting, Y/N.

"So that's why it felt like we've seen each other before... maybe I saw you while you were moving in." he said out loud, almost as if he was trying to convince himself. "My name is Park Jimin, by the way." He stated calmly before a smile spread across his face.

So, he does have a name. A name that I could see myself mo-

No, stop thinking such dirty thoughts. You've just formally met him for Christ's sake.

"I'm Y/N." you replied with a small grin. You glanced down at the floor before remembering why you rushed over here in the first place. You watched as he eyed you curiously, a brow arching. "Oh my gosh, right. I came to invite you to a party."

You watched as his brow dropped, his eyes staring at you with amusement and curiosity as he slowly smiled.

"You know, since I just moved in right next door," you gestured to your house with your hand before placing it down to your side again. "I thought I'd throw a party to get to know my neighbors. I've only met Namjoon so far and I was hoping th-"

"You've only met Namjoon, huh?" he asked as he arched a brow, a playful smirk forming on his lips as he leaned against the doorframe. "You do realize that's a lie, right?" he asked as his smirk only widened.

"S-sorry what?" you asked, furrowing your eyebrows as you started getting nervous again while talking to him.

Shit, if he keeps smirking at me, it's going to be harder for me to keep up this act.

"It's a lie." He stated simply as he shrugged before combing his hands through his hair. "You met me at the grocery store a few days ago. Yes, we never said our names and we didn't know we were neighbors, but I'd still consider that a first meeting, wouldn't you?" he asked as he arched a brow, his eyes staring down at you.

"Oh, you're right." you quietly mumbled. You watched as his tongue slicked over his lips, his eyes still staring down at you. Slowly his smirk turned into a full smile as he let out a soft chuckle.

Such a cute laugh.

"Is the invitation on your phone?" He questioned. You nodded quickly at his question. He grinned down at you once more.

You watched helplessly as you were unable to move. He slowly stepped out of his house fully. He reached out his hand and took the phone from your hand that had the e-invite with all the details about the party on the screen. You stood still as he slowly entered a number into the phone and sent the e-invite to his own phone, causing a ding noise to come from the pocket in his sweatpants.

"Thanks for inviting me," he said as he smiled down at you, placing the phone back into your hands. "I'll be there." You watched as he slowly turned around and entered his house, waving his hand while saying something that you didn't fully hear due to your shock at his boldness. You think it was something along the lines of how it was nice to properly meet you.

The pleasure is all mine, Park Jimin.
