I almost jumped up in the air and yelped out in relief when the needle got stuck into the back of his neck.

The tranquilliser numbed Andrew's muscles almost instantly and caused him to drop the weapon on the ground. A second later, he collapsed and his body followed.

I couldn't believe I had actually done it.

Jonah and I slowly stepped from behind the tree that we had been using as our cover.

Across from us, Corbyn peeked his head out from behind another large tree. When his eyes found the now far from dangerous hunters on the ground, him and Lexa revealed themselves as well.

I kneeled down beside the three passed out hunters and watched their stomachs rise and fall in a steady rhythm, their eyes peacefully closed and body completely calm.

"Who would've thought a hunter could be useful for once," I heard Lexa mutter under her breath as she approached me.

I pursed my lips lightly, knowing her words were meant for me, but decided to ignore her comment.

Corbyn said something back in a somewhat harsh whisper. I couldn't hear exactly what he said, but it made Lexa turn silent.

He stopped in front of me and examined the unconscious people on the ground — the people that I had betrayed. "How long until they wake up?"

I lifted my shoulders in a shrug. "At least until the end of the day."

Corbyn nodded and looked at me as I stood up straight again.

"Thanks for saving my ass back there," I said, nodding towards the pinecone that was lying a little further down on the forest ground. "Well thrown."

Corbyn smiled. "Told my parents that playing lacrosse would come in handy one day," he said with a soft chuckle, owning up to the fact that he had been the one throwing the pinecone. Then he nodded towards the empty gun in my hands. "Thanks for not missing."

I returned the smile and silently appreciated the friendly look on his face, which was now aiming much more kindness at me than it had a few hours ago. "Yeah, of cou-"

"CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET ME OUT OF THIS DAMN THING," Jack shouted from his trapped position, his eyes glowing in frustration.

My head snapped towards him. "Oh shit, sorry." I dropped the gun on the ground and rushed towards him. Grabbing the remote that controlled the emitters out of my pocket, I pressed the second button.

Once the little blue lights on the metallic pins dimmed down, signalling that they were off, Jack gulped in a deep breath. He got up from his knees and stepped out of the trap, his eyes transforming back into their normal colour. "Thanks," he said shortly.

Jonah scanned over his friend. "You good, bro?"

Jack raised his eyebrows at him. "I'm sorry, what?" He asked, much louder than usually. "Can you talk a bit louder, I can't hear you."

I saw Jonah freeze and for a second I got scared as well. Considering Jack had been in the trap for hours, the high-pitched sound tormenting his supernatural hearing all the while, it wasn't hard to imagine the sound had actually damaged his hearing.

The corner of Jack's mouth twitched up in half a smirk at our shocked faces. "Just kidding, I'm fine."

Jonah glared at him, clearly not appreciating the joke. He sighed, his eyes diverting to me. "So what do we do now?"

"Now we find out where they are," I stated.

Lexa looked at me, suspicion glinting inside her eyes. "How?"
