You struggled to keep up as Mystery practically dragged you through the hallways by a tight grip on your wrist. He kept rambling all about his so called "friends" and about himself. You didn't really care to listen too closely though, tuning out his excited rambles instead. You glanced at a small window that sat just below the ceiling as Mystery pulled you past it. A bright orange light poured down from the metal frame onto the checkered floors and scribbled walls, casting two long shadows of you and Mystery as you passed. Sunset. How were you going to get home now? You heard the papers on the wall flutter a bit as you walked by, along with Mystery still talking on and on.

You weren't even paying attention to where Mystery was dragging you anymore. It's going to get dark any minute, you were supposed to be at home, but no, you were trapped in an abandoned hospital with a psycho purple cat holding you hostage. Hopefully, he'd let you go eventually. Your mind immediantly began thinking about the worst case scenarios. But what if he didn't let you leave? Surely your friends would probably get worried and come looking for you, right? But how long would that take? days? weeks? You decided to rely on yourself to get out of there. You noticed that you finally stopped.

You snapped out of your thoughts and looked around. It was a room, but it was slightly different from the others. There were a lot more things drawn and hung on the walls than in any of the other rooms, along with a few miscellaneous items strewn about.

"...And that is why Mystery does NOT let Jared live under his pillow anymore!" He finally stopped rambling and looked back down at you.
"Do you like it? This is Mystery's room!" Mystery said, finally letting go of your wrist and turning towards you. You were too preoccupied to answer.
"Anyways, Mystery wanted to introduce you to Mago!" That got your attention.
"Wait, there's someone else here?" Maybe they could help you get out! Then again, they could be just as insane as Mystery seemed to be. Anyone who would choose to be here by free will was probably insane anyways. Unless they were trapped here. In that case, you could help each other escape or something. You were getting ahead of yourself.

"Where are they?" You asked Mystery.
"Oh, he's right here!" He said, gesturing towards the corner of the room. You didn't see anything but a creepy-looking doll.
"Huh? I don't see anything..."
"Hi, Mago!" He began talking seemingly to nothing. You stood there confused for a few seconds before it hit you- He was talking to the doll. Mago wasn't a person, but an inanimate object. You let out a disappointed sigh.

"This is Mystery's new friend!" He continued talking to the doll. This guy really was crazy. You watched him stand there like he was listening to Mago.
"Oh, don't be like that, Mago! Your always so negative..." Mystery actually believed that... thing was talking to him. He turned his attention back towards you, overlooking your confused stare.
"Anyways, you never told Mystery your name!" You sighed in defeat.

"My name is-"

"SHUT UP!" He shouted, whipping his head back towards Mago. You jumped. You thought he was screaming at you at first, but it seemed directed towards the doll.
"Sorry! Mago isn't in the best mood today... why don't we talk somewhere else?" He said, rushing you out of the room before casting a glare towards the doll in the corner. He led you to another room far away from the room with the doll. There were a bunch of papers scattered on the floor, but they were blank. There was also a few crayons here and there, though most of them looked worn down and... almost as if they had been chewed on? Mystery sat down on the floor with his back against the wall. He motioned for you to sit beside him, but you declined, instead of standing beside him, not wanting to get your clothes dusty. Even when he was sitting, his head nearly reached half your height.

"So what's your name?" Mystery asked once more.
"It's Y/N." You finally answered him.
"That's a nice name! I like it!" He seemed happy to finally have an answer.
"You can ask me a question now if you want!" He smiled back at you.
"Thanks..." You figured you might as well ask him something, you didn't have anything better to do anyway. You thought for a moment.
"How long have you been here?" You asked after a few seconds.
"Well..." He looked down for a few seconds in thought.

"I- I'm not sure... But at least Mystery has another friend here now!" He replied, perking up near the end of his sentence.
"As I said, Mystery doesn't get visitors very often..." He said with a hint of sadness in his voice. After he spoke you were beginning to wonder if you had misjudged him.
"Anyways, what's your favorite color?" He asked, changing the subject entirely. You continued to talk. He seemed so cheerful. You wondered how he ended up here, but you were too afraid to ask, fearing it may have been to much of a sensitive subject. Eventually you began to grow a bit tired, you had walked quite a long distance to get to the hospital. You were wondering  what time it was. You knew it was dark out, but surprisingly somehow you managed to see in the building pretty well. You couldn't help but yawn, catching Mystery's attention.

"Are you tired?" He asked.
"Yeah, a little-"
"I know where you can sleep! Y/N can sleep in Mystery's room! It'll be like a sleepover!" He said excitedly.
"Uh-"
"Then again, Mago probably wouldn't like that much..." He thought for a moment.
"I have an idea! Follow me!" He said, quickly jumping to his feet and walking out of the room. You almost had to run to keep up with him, he was able to walk pretty fast with his long legs. You followed him a little ways until he stopped at a room right beside his.

"Here! You can sleep in this room, it'll be like we're neighbors! ...or something..." You walked in and sat on the old hospital bed in the corner. It was actually pretty comfortable considering how old it was, but you'd still rather be in your own bed at home.
"Thank you..." You said, looking back at him in the doorway.
"Your welcome! Mystery will be right next door if you need anything!" He said cheerfully, before closing the door. You laid down on the rickety but warm bed, staring up at the ceiling. You couldn't believe you were actually staying the night there.
