HOLY SHIT I'M SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG I had to rewrite this chapter like 3 times and I'm still a little unsure about it but I think it's an improvement of the other idea I had
Also sorry about the crappy drawing from like 3 months ago

Mystery diverted his gaze to the floor and furrowed his brows. He took a moment to respond.
"Mystery can't leave..." He finally responded, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Why not? You don't want to stay here forever, do you?" He took even longer just to respond with, "It's not about what Mystery wants... I just can't leave..." Mystery's words trailed off into an awkward silence.
"Well, why can't you leave?"
"I can't leave because... Mystery- Well... hmm..." He didn't seem to know how to reply.
"Mystery has done some... very bad things. And now he's stuck here forever and ever and ever." He explained vaguely, barely giving any information. You didn't exactly know what he meant by "very bad things", but you assumed it probably had something to do with his sudden "outbursts". You decided not to inquire about what he did exactly.
"But that's okay!" Mystery continued, regenerating his normal joyful tone, "This is Mystery's hospital now, after all. Someone has to take care of it, and that's Mystery-hee!"

You were going to say something else, but you were interrupted not by Mystery this time, but by your own stomach growling.
"Hoo! What was that?" He said, looking all around the room for the source of the noise.
"Oh, it's just my stomach, I'm just hungry..." You explained to him.
"Oh! Hmm, Mystery doesn't think he has a 'stomach'..." Well it certainly didn't look like it being how skinny he was, but you decided not to say anything about that.
"Well, you wouldn't happen to have anything to eat around here, would you?" You were rather hungry. After all, you hadn't eaten a bite in the last few days.
"Well! Mystery actually might have something..." He turned around as if he were looking for something.
"Aha!" He said as he picked something off his tail. It wasn't until he turned around that you realized what it was. It looked to be a small centipede of some sort, trying to wriggle its way out from between his fingers.
"Here! He's been a little meanie today anyways." You quickly leaned away from the bug in his gloved hand as he tried to hand it over to you.
"Uh, I'll pass..." You said. You were hungry, but not hungry enough to stomach a bug.
"What's wrong? I thought you said you were hungry..?" Mystery seemed confused by your disgusted reaction to his offer.
"I don't really like, um... bugs..."
"Huh? Why not? Mystery eats them all the time!" He said, the small centipede still clamped between his fingers.
"You eat bugs..?"
"Yup! They don't always taste the best, but Mystery likes to imagine that they're his favorite candy! If I imagine hard enough, they taste just like it!"

"Oh..." Was all you said.
"So you don't want this?" He asked, gesturing towards the insect.
"No thanks, but thank you for offering-" Mystery suddenly popped the bug into his mouth, biting down on it with a loud crunch noise. You were glad he ate it then rather than before he tried to kiss you. At least you hoped he hadn't eaten any bugs before he tried to kiss you.
"If you don't like bugs, then... maybe you'll be able to find something to eat in Mystery's garden?" His voice pulled you out of your thoughts.
"You have a garden?"
"Uh huh! Come on, Mystery will show you!" He quickly took your hand and led you through the halls.

Mystery finally stopped in front of two large doors that seemingly led outside. How did you ever miss that? He opened one of the doors for you and beckoned you to go through. You stepped out of the building and into what seemed like a courtyard of some sort, surrounded by the outer walls of the hospital. It was a good size, not huge, but still rather big. You took a deep breath of the fresh outdoors air. At the base of the walls you saw flowers, trees, bushes and other plants. It was a little overgrown in some spots, but still pretty impressive. Overall, it was quite serene.
"You grew these?" You asked him, looking around the garden.
"Well, they were here when Mystery got here, but he does make sure to keep them company! He makes the plants feel better when they are sad!" You walked around the courtyard, looking at all the plants. You knelt down to look at some of the flowers. You never really did much gardening yourself, but you really liked Mystery's little garden.
