DECEMBER

narrator's pov:

the riverview students attending the annual ski lodge trip arrived to their school by six in the morning, preparing themselves for the seventeen hour long bus ride.

daniel and mackenzie, chloe and zach, and waverly and jonah are all not on good terms, and to make matters worse, waverly and jonah are stuck sharing a room.

"i can't believe i have to sleep in the same room as jonah for three nights," waverly scoffed, slouching in the auditorium chairs.

"well, neither of you knew what was going to happen at the winter dance," charlotte mentioned, "i'm sure things will work out on its own."

teachers and faculty began to escort kids to the buses, and the riverview high students were about to head to pennsylvania for what they don't know would be the longest weekend of their lives.

-

corbyn yawned, stretching his arms.

"you tired, corbyn?" lillian asked.

the blonde nodded his head, "can i use you as a pillow?"

lillian laughed, "of course."

corbyn laid his head on lillian's shoulder, and then she placed her head on top of his.

"wow, i aspire to be them one day," waverly laughed, stalking corbyn and lillian with chloe.

the blonde girl laughed, but something was off about her, and the redhead noticed.

"chlo, are you okay?" waverly inquired.

chloe sighed, "no, not really. zach hasn't talked to me since everyone found out about ethan, and that was three days ago. he's my best friend, and i can't stand that we're fighting."

"i feel for you, chloe. jonah and i aren't in a good place either," waverly added, "well, we haven't been in a good place for a long time."

"i guess we're both having boy problems," chloe laughed, nudging at waverly, "but, on the other hand, i'm so excited for the trip. snow is so cool."

"i hate that it doesn't snow where we live," waverly groaned.

"you know, let's just forget about guys. i want to have the time of my life during this trip, and i don't need to be thinking about boys," chloe declared.

"that's the spirit!" waverly remarked, high-fiving the blonde.

although, the moment she said that, zach and jack were informed to sit directly behind chloe and waverly.

as the boys passed by, chloe and zach awkwardly made eye contact whilst jack and waverly greeted each other.

"you've got to be kidding me," chloe mumbled, slumping in her bus seat, "that did not just happen."

before speaking, waverly peered above her seat and looked at zach and jack. zach was already sleeping, and jack was looking outside the window and wearing his airpods. he noticed waverly peeking, and smiled at her. she smiled back, and sat down.

"well, zach is asleep, and jack and i just smiled at each other, so i guess everything is fine for now," waverly remarked, "i've spoke to jack a little since the dance, but not really."

chloe looked to her right since she was in the aisle seat, "poor jonah, sitting all alone."

"shhh, you said that so loud!" waverly whisper-shouted.
