narrator's pov:

a week after prom was graduation day. many of the juniors were not excited to see their senior friends leave. jack, zach, chloe, waverly, charlotte, and mackenzie all attended the graduation ceremony, but lillian did not.

the following evening after the ceremony was the party held at corbyn's house. practically the entire school was back at the besson household, just like new year's.

"wow, i can't believe you guys graduated," chloe remarked, facing the three seniors, "i'm seriously going to miss you guys."

"don't worry, chloe, we don't need to dorm since we're so close to our colleges," daniel reassured, "although, corbyn on the other hand..."

"hey, i'll see you guys for any holidays," corbyn mentioned, trying to brighten the somber mood, "california is only a couple thousand miles away."

"wait, did you ever get to talk to lillian at prom?" chloe inquired.

corbyn shook her head, "i was going to, but then charlotte told me that she left."

"is she coming tonight?" jonah asked.

corbyn shrugged, "i hope she does."

-

"truth or dare is over here!" someone shouted.

jack looked at waverly, "are we all seriously going to play truth or dare again?"

"no way i'm playing," waverly declared, "every time we've played truth or dare, something goes wrong."

the two walked away from the large circle of their peers playing truth or dare, and headed towards the snack table.

"you guys aren't playing either?" mackenzie asked.

waverly shook her head, "not us, but it seems like chloe, zach, charlotte, and corbyn still want to play."

meanwhile, on the other side of corbyn's living room, the game of truth or dare was just getting started.

"alright, truth or dare, chloe?" kacey asked, tilting her head.

"dare," chloe answered.

"chug whatever is inside ethan's cup," kacey declared, gesturing at the boy sitting next to her.

chloe looked inside ethan's cup, "that's gross, and you all know i don't drink."

"just do it, habrock," addison joined in.

"drink! drink! drink!" everyone chanted.

zach rolled his eyes, "can you guys stop? you all know that chloe doesn't drink, so stop trying to pressure her."

everyone stopped chanting, and kacey asked someone else a question. chloe smiled at her boyfriend, "thank you, zach, i needed that."

zach smiled back at her, "i'll do anything for you, love."

addison looked around the circle, and spotted the perfect person to ask a question, "corbyn, truth or dare?"

"um... truth," corbyn replied.

"is it true that you're going to stanford for college, and you're moving tomorrow?" addison questioned.

everyone became silent since they all wanted to know what corbyn had to say. he never properly announced what college he was going to attend, so everybody was curious.

"um, yes, i'm going to stanford," corbyn replied, "i have everything packed up, and i'm leaving earlier than usual for fall sports and to get used to the environment."

"wait, california?" charlotte questioned, "i didn't know you were going all the way to california."

"surprise?" corbyn responded.

-

lillian grabbed her purse, and had her hand placed on her front door handle.

"where do you think you're going?" her mom questioned, placing her newspaper down.

lillian stuttered, "u-um, i'm going to a graduation party."

"where is it?" her mom inquired.

"corbyn's house," lillian mumbled.

"corbyn's house?!" lilian's mom shrieked, "you are not going to your ex-boyfriend's house."

lillian groaned, "mom, please! i'm saying goodbye to all of the other seniors, and i don't know when i'm going to see them all again."

"you're not going, and that's final," her mom declared, taking lillian's phone out of her hands as well.

"is lillian not coming?" corbyn asked waverly, "the party is going to end soon."

waverly shrugged, "we texted her a while ago, and she still hasn't replied."

"i hate to say this, corbyn, but i really don't think she's coming," mackenzie admitted.

corbyn plastered a smile on his face, "it's okay. i just kind of wish i had one last chance to talk to her."
