thirty-three ☆ period

DECEMBER

narrator's pov:

"hey," chloe declared, jumping on mackenzie's bed to wake her up, "you missed breakfast. why have you been sleeping for so long?"

mackenzie groaned, "i didn't get much sleep last night."

"thinking about daniel?" chloe teased.

"wait, what? how do you know about what happened?" mackenzie shrieked.

"huh?" chloe asked back, "i'm just teasing you, kenzie. wait, did something happen?"

"n-no," mackenzie lied, standing up from her bed, "uh, let's just get ready for snow-tubing."

chloe and mackenzie walked out of their room at the same time as charlotte and daniel.

"hey!" chloe called out, waving to the couple a few rooms down, "come on, mack, let's go say hi."

mackenzie let out a deep breath, and walked over to charlotte and daniel with chloe.

"kenz, you missed breakfast," charlotte pointed out.

"yeah, i was just really tired," mackenzie replied, stretching out her arms.

"well, let's go down to the hill. it's our last full day here, and i want us all to spend it having fun," chloe remarked, skipping to the elevator.

charlotte ran and followed her, but mackenzie and daniel walked behind them.

"hey, do you want to talk about last night?" daniel asked, whispering.

"there's nothing to talk about, daniel," mackenzie sighed.

"what do you mean? there's so much," daniel disagreed, stopping in front of mackenzie.

"last night was a huge mistake," mackenzie declared, crossing her arms, "period."

she walked past daniel, and joined charlotte and chloe in the elevator.

charlotte, chloe, mackenzie, and daniel met up with zach, jonah, waverly, jack, lillian, and corbyn up at the hill.

"you guys aren't ready for this smoke," corbyn declared, grabbing his tube.

"no way," waverly disagreed, "i'm going to beat all of you."

"think again," jack laughed.

waverly, corbyn, jack, jonah, and lillian lined up in their individual lanes, and were ready to slide down the hill. inevitably, corbyn won.

"i win, you guys are losers," corbyn teased, milly-rocking.

lillian yawned, "it's only the afternoon, why am i so tired?"

"well, you better not be tired later," jack mentioned, nudging at corbyn.

"huh?" lillian asked.

"tonight is going to be the longest night of your life," jonah answered.

"oh, that's what chloe was telling us," waverly mentioned.

"yeah, everybody's going to be in the hot tub all night," corbyn added, "we're going to play truth or dare, never have i ever, and would you rather."

after snow-tubing had ended, everybody went to get ready for dinner, and later get ready for the hot tub.

the seating arrangement was lillian, corbyn, jonah, chloe, and mackenzie on one side, and daniel, charlotte, zach, jack, and waverly on the opposite side.

"oh my gosh, look at the stars!" lillian remarked, gazing outside of the window.

"i love you," corbyn declared.

"to the stars and back," lillian added.

"wow, imagine being as cute as them," waverly sighed, crossing her arms and facing jack.

"hmm..." jack mumbled, "how about te amo hasta la luna y más allá?"

"um, i'm going to need a translation. you know i'm terrible at spanish," waverly laughed.

"it means i love you to the moon and beyond," jack answered.

"aw, that's cute," waverly replied, smiling.

"yeah, but not original," corbyn joined in, him and lillian laughing.

"whatever," jack chuckled, turning to face waverly, "te amo."

"hasta la luna y más allá," waverly added.

the almost-couple hugged, but jonah watched them from the opposite side of the table. he pretended that he was reading through the menu so they wouldn't know he was watching them the entire time.
