Sunny and Kyle broke their embrace and Melody stepped close to them. Sunny looked down unsure what to do. As did Kyle and Melody. Kyle was oblivious to the attraction between the women, only knowing that his heart beat for both of the women in this room. Surprisingly, it was Sunny that made the first move.
Her heart was beating fast as she acted on her feelings throwing her mind and rationality away. Her lips moved slowly against Kyle's. She remembered all the kisses Kyle shared with Jodie but the memories couldn't compare to what it actually felt like.
Kyle was shocked but couldn't help but kiss back. This was not only the body of Jodie but also Sunny, the gentle soul he's grown so found of. Melody stared at Sunny surprised by her boldness. As Kyle let go of Sunny he turned to Melody ready to apologize but Melody had seen the look in Sunny's eyes.
Without hesitation Melody placed her lips on Sunny's in a sweet kiss. Sunny responded and moved towards her as Kyle looked at them surprised, questioning what happened during the time he was away. Melody freed one arm and used it to pull Kyle closer. Sunny started to kiss Kyle's neck as Melody and Kyle shared a passionate kiss.
"Is everyone alright with this?" Melody asked first looking into Sunny's then Kyle's eyes deeply.
"If that is alright with you." Sunny told her.
"It has to be alright for you! If you don't want this, and you are uncomfortable we can always walk away from this." Kyle told her, excitement growing in his belly as he thought about the possible future.
"Do you want this?" Melody asked her again.
"Yes!"
"I love you two." He told his two girls.
After a few moments of silence Kyle spoke up again.
"They found a body for Wanda. They'll try to wake it up, but if the body stays unresponsive they will insert her into it."
"That's good. Ian missed her a lot." Melody said.
"I'm glad she'll be back." Sunny told them. Amongst the humans she felt left out every now and then. As if she doesn't belong here. She'll feel more comfortable with a soul around, especially Wanda.
"We can see them tomorrow." Melody said and looked at Kyle. "You, mate, need a bath."
As the three adults exited the bathroom, hair still wet, smiles bright on their faces, they decided to go to the infirmary. Sunny held Melody's and Kyle's hands tightly as they walked through the pitch black tunnel. They could already hear the voices before they saw the light.
The body was laying on the uncomfortable hospital bed, surrounded by people, who considered Wanda a friend. Ian was there, Jeb, Jamie, Jared, Melanie of course, Lily, Trudy, Heath, even Aaron and Brandt were standing around the body as they talked to her.
The three walked closer. Sunny was so excited to see Rides the Beast or Wanda as she was called here again. Back with the bears she was considered a brave hero. She smiled as she saw the young woman on the bed stir as Ian called out to her.
Kyle stood behind Sunny wrapping one arm around her waist while pulling Melody close to his other side, kissing the side of her head.
Wanda opened the eyes of her new body. She blinked and looked around confused and frightened. How was she here? She told Doc she wanted to die! Why was she able to look into those warm, comforting blue eyes of the person she loved?
"Ian? Ian where am I? Who am I?"
The voice was high and so different. As she moved slowly to look around Melody saw the wonder in those reflective eyes as she took in the people surrounding her. Wanda's eyes rested on Sunny.
"Sunny? You're still here? What about Jodie?", Wanda was worried.
"I am staying!", the soul responded gleefully.
"Jodie didn't respond" Doc told her, "so Kyle decided to put Sunny back into her body.
Wanda stared at Melody, Kyle, and Sunny. The three stood so close together but Wanda couldn't understand. Was Kyle still with Melody? And how strange. How strange that two people, who wanted nothing to do with souls were now standing so close to one, holding her in their arms.
"But I don't want take another life", Wanda started and Melody stopped listening.
Wanda had the tendency to paint everything black. She sometimes seemed suicidal to Melody as she thought back to all those times Wanda was ready to let herself be killed by one if the humans. It was obvious she was a soul. Unlike a human she had no survival instinct.
Instead Melody focused on Kyle's face. She didn't know how long the two of them have been together. It seemed like a lifetime ago, that she met the O'Shea brothers. His face was without any scars, only the crooked nose.
During their time before the caves she asked him, when they were comfortable around each other.
"How often did you got your nose broken?", she asked as they loaded their vehicle.
Ian sat already in the driver's seat and laughed as he heard her question. Kyle looked at the woman half amused half annoyed.
"A few times. I stopped counting."
"What did you do?"
"Got into couple fights."
She learned that once they got to the cave. He had his nose broken here as well. But she loved his face regardless. He had a slight beard but she knew he would shave again soon. His hair was unruly, still a bit wet. His blue eyes focused on Sunny as she talked to Wanda.
Sunny's eyes shined brightly as she talked to the soul. Her hair curled slightly as it dried in the warm sun. The young woman was glad to finally have Wanda back, a fellow soul she could confide in when she was doubting herself in midst of all the humans.
During the next months it started to rain heavily. Many in the caves complained about their wet and therefore uninhabitable rooms. However, Jamie was excited as everyone started carrying their beds into the game room. The teenager moved in with Ian and Wanda and now planted his bed next to Ian and Wanda's.
Melody and her lovers settled down in the corner not too far away from Kyle's brother. Kyle sat next to Melody against the wall on top of the soft mattress. Sunny's head was in her lap as she brushed through it occasionally. The three were absolutely happy, not having a care in the world.
This was her home, her family. After all the suffering she was forced through, she finally found what her heart desired more than anything: Safety.
