Just to clarify this chapter picks up the morning after the end of the last chapter. So it's the first full day that the girls are back in Chicago.
The smell of bacon hits me immediately when I wake up. I untangled myself from the mess of blankets and people on the living room floor. The girls and I passed out halfway through "Frozen" around 2:30 AM.
"Mom?" She was standing at the stove flipping pancakes and wearing an apron. I cannot tell you the last time my mom has worn an apron, or if she ever has.
"Tris! Welcome home, I've missed you so much." She ran over and engulfed me in a hug.
"I missed you too. But really you didn't have to do all this." I grabbed a piece of bacon off the plate that was piled with food. In fact, the whole table was covered in various breakfast foods. "It's not like it's the first time we've been away from each other for a long time."
"I know, I'm away most of the time too. But this is different! This time it was you who was gone, and when I don't know you're safe at home I get worried."
Before I could say anything, Caleb appeared from the stairs. "Beatrice, if mom wants to cook this much food, all you need to say is 'thank you.' "
I rolled my eyes but gave him a hug anyway. "Sorry, Tris." He corrected himself.
"For once I agree with Nerdy Older Brother." I heard Christina's voice and looked to see her, Shauna, and Marlene also walking into the kitchen.
" I second that. Mrs. Prior this food looks incredible." Shauna said.
"Girls!" My mother exclaimed, running over to hug them as well. "So glad to see you, also it's Natalie. I don't go by Mrs. Prior any more."
As we ate, mom fired question after question. I skillfully avoided having to tell the full story of "Black out Drunk night" when she asked about my hair.
"Oh, and how's Four doing? Him and the other boys joined you on tour for a week right?" The girls and Caleb all got quiet.
I cleared my throat, "Yeah they did. Um, me and Four, we're not really together anymore."
My mom could tell I didn't want to go into the full story right now. "Well, that's a shame. You two we're good for each other, but things happen."
She gave me a look that told me this conversation wasn't over. She wanted an explanation.
Shauna spoke up, "Speaking of, Zeke texted. We're supposed to meet them at the mall in an hour."
As we head to my room, Christina pulls me aside. "You okay?" I nod.
" I'm fine. I swear." I add when she gives me a doubtful look.We all gush over how excited we are to see Will, Uriah, and Zeke as we get ready. Four's name is not mentioned.

When we get to the food court, we find a bigger crowd than expected. Sitting at a long table is not just the three boys we expected. But they are joined Lauren, Four, and Delainey. As soon as Uriah spots us walking over, There is immediate chaos. They all run over ( minus two people) and we are wrapped in a giant group hug. The boys break off to hug and kiss their individual girlfriends, and Lauren gives me a personal hug as well. At first I feel like it's just to keep me from feeling left out but she seems genuine when she tells me how much she's missed me.
"Oh you've just missed the party preformances." I joke
"Damn straight." she replies. and before I can say anything else, arms wrap around my waist and I'm suddenly lifted from the ground, and being spun in a circle.
