"Tris? What happened?" Christina exclaimed, running into my room.

"Chris, it's not that big of a deal." I replied without turning to face her.

"You can't text "code red" and not expect me to freak out. What happened?"

"I just need your expert make up skills." I turned around so she could see my face, and her eyes grew wide.

"I kinda got into a car accident yesterday." I shrugged. "The worst part is the bruised ribs, it hurts to laugh and turn certain ways. Other than that just these few cuts on my face. the black eye is from the airbag."

"You say it like its just a scraped knee." Chris gapes at me.

"Think you can cover the scars for me?" I ask.

About 15 minutes later, most of the cuts are covered. My hair is fixed to cover the stitches on my forehead. The only thing that can't be hidden is the black eye.

"Well, that's as close as we're gonna get." She announces. "You know, you're weirdly optimistic for someone who could've died less than twenty four hours ago."

I rolled my eyes, "I don't think I could've died. But thank you for your concern." I say, biting my lip.

"You're lying!" She exclaims. "You bit your lip. Why are you being so weird about this?"

"I'm not being weird, okay? I'm just being happy. I don't want to waste my time moping about things I can't change."

She smiled. "Okay then. Lets get to school."

(Four's pov)

I closed my locker and saw Delainey walking toward me.

"Hey," she said brightly. "Do you want to do something this Friday? I feel like I've hardly seen you lately."

I frowned slightly. "Don't you want to go to the beach this Friday? Everyone's gonna be there."

Her smile drooped. I don't think that was the right response from me.

"Yeah sure." She agrees, then starts to say something else, but stops. "oh my god. what happened to her?"

I followed Delainey's gaze and the 'her' turned out to be Tris. We made our way over to her and Christina at the same time everyone else reached her.

I knew that a person couldn't have done this to her. She would've defended herself.

"Car accident." she announces simply. "I was driving way to fast and didn't notice some guys ran his red light."

She has always been stronger than she knew, so it's not surprising that she acts so nonchalant about this.

But still, Tris acts like nothing happened all. If anything she looks...lighter. The way she holds herself. It's more relaxed.

I want to be able to hug her, and let her know I'm glad she's okay. Of course, even if I could, she wouldn't need me to. She is stronger than that.

The group moves into a different conversation, and I pull Delainey to the side.

"About what you said earlier. Why don't we hang out tonight, just us. We can talk." I say.

"Sure. see you around 6?" She smiles.

But by the time six o'clock rolls around, I haven't heard from her. My phone vibrates with a text message.

Hey Four,
I know you wanted to talk tonight. I have a feeling I know already how that talk will end, and I hope I ended up meaning more to you than a rebound.

I would fight for us, but you have a bigger battle to win. -Delainey

A second message came in from her within seconds.

Fight for her.

Soo Four and Delainey are no more. sorry it's a short chapter. I'm kinda stuck in my writing right now.

Well I am with this story. I have been starting to write another book that I have TONS of ideas for flavoring around in my head so it's been hard to focus and plan out this one.

Hope I got in a pretty good update, after the confusion.
