"Shit, guys what are we gonna go?" Marlene exclaimed.
"Tris, are you sure there's not a song you want to sing to a certain someone." Christina hinted.
Biting my lip, I sighed and said,"Yeah I'm sure. I just gave him a long speech about moving on. dedicating a song to him would be totally counterproductive. Plus, Delainey will be there."
Can you say awkward?
To be honest, there was at least twenty songs I could think of to sing to Four. But it wouldn't be fair to do that right now. Not to me or him.
Christina's sighed and continued straightening my hair.
"Why don't we just sing something fun? Or dedicate a song to your boys?" I suggested to them.
"Like what?" Shuana asked. I scrolled through my phone, looking for any song that would work. There's less than 24 hours until we need to be onstage. And we are completely unprepared. To make things better, Lauren is expecting at least three songs. if not more. She claims:
"There was no tour stop in chicago, so we're making our own. You don't have to play the whole night, just a couple songs."
"We don't have time to prepare anything new anyway." Chris points out.
"Wait, Ive got it." I announce. "Costume change."

We arrive at the beach together, the sun setting in the distance. All four of us are dressed in matching gold dresses with our hair and make up done the same. The dresses are fitted at the torso, but at the bottom there's choppy, loose layers of sheer fabric that extend to our ankles. Whenever we move the skirt flows in perfect motions.
Our hair is straightened so much, it looks not one strand is out of place. But is currently tied in a fancy updo. For make up me have on gold eyeshadow and black eyeliner. Light pink gloss covers our lips.
To an outsiders eye, we are dressed for a simple, beautiful performance. Which we are-for now. But here's a trick we learned on tour. Since we always have small sets, we had to fit in a variety of music in a short time. The solution? A two minute costume change.
This set is one we did on tour, so we didn't need to cram the whole day to come up with dances and assign parts.
We had time to come and set up a makeshift changing room behind stage, and create a set for the second half of the performance.
"You guys look insanely gorgeous." Lauren told us. We all smirked knowingly. even she didn't know what was planned for tonight.
In a circle the four of us stood behind the door leading to the stage. We picked up the ritual of doing an energy circle on tour, and it seemed wrong to skip it now. We parted ways, going to our respective entrances. For this song we would walk in from opposite sides of the stage.
The starting note played, my cue to start. Still from the side of the stage I sang
"Regrets collect like old friends"
From the other end of the stage I hear Chris start.
"Here to relive your darkest moments"
Behind me Marlene sings
"I can see no way, I can see no way"
And finally Shauna,
"And all of the ghouls come out to play."
I sing my next line, while walking toward center stage
"And every demon wants his pound of flesh"
