The door to the empty girl's bathroom was swung open, and in came (Y/n) stumbling. Slamming the door behind her, she leaned her back against it and tightly screwed her eyes shut.

Gritting her teeth, she tried to hold it in. The pain, the tears, the words. The tightening of her throat and the short intakes of labored breath proved it difficult for her to continue clutching at the last bit of composure she had left. Her chest heaved with a quiet sob praying to get out.

Then, brick by brick, her last remaining wall of composure broke.

The sobs were stifled at first, before she completely broke down into a mess of tears, hiccupping and sniffling. She didn't bother wiping the tears away, she let them fall, onto her jacket, onto the floor.

Raising her head, she looked towards the bathroom mirror. Her reflection stared back at her, mirroring her grief and anguish. With shaky legs, she pushed off the door and walked towards the mirror. Standing before it, her sobs slowly faded away as they were replaced with a runny nose and sniffles. Her hollow, red, puffy eyes trailed over her blotchy, tear-stained cheeks and red nose. She bit down on her quivering lip. Sniffling, she grabbed some of the tissue papers from the tissue dispenser mounted on the wall next to the mirror. She blew her nose into them before disposing of them in the bin.

She went back to staring at her reflection.

Why was she crying?

A small, sniffle escaped her and she looked down at the sink's marble bowl. With no hesitation, she opened the tap and run her hands under the cold water. She then raised one trembling wet hand to one side of her face and began wiping her tears off, repeating the same with the other side.

She looked up at her reflection and observed a small change on her mottled cheeks. Her eyes though, remained puffy and bloodshot.

Closing the tap, she shook off the excess water from her hands before covering her face with them. She took in a deep breath and dragged them down her face, relishing in the cool feeling lingering on her skin.

She stared at her reflection once more and tilted her head.

Why was she crying?

The corner of her lips twitched but immediately stopped. Her frown returned. She glanced down at the water droplets sliding down the sides of the sink's bowl. Stretching her the corner of lips sideways, she lifted her head back to her reflection.

She leaned forward a bit and combed her hand through her hair, returning it back to its earlier state of order. She then leaned back, satisfied and confirmed that things were at least back to normal. Only one more thing left to do.

She poked each of her index fingers to both sides of her cheeks and a small smile steadily appeared on her lips.

There.

She dropped her hands. Along with the smile.

She sighed and looked to the side.

What was there to smile about anyway?

The squeaking sound of the bathroom door being swung open alerted her and she looked over her shoulder at the person invading her preferred solitude.

When their eyes met, Uraraka stilled, before releasing a sigh of relief for finally finding her after searching both in the changing room and the nurse's office. Her last resort would've been looking in the class if she hadn't found her in the bathroom and she was honestly thankful didn't have to go all the way there now.

"Hey," she greeted with a small smile, her gentle voice replacing the quietude in the bathroom and echoing off the walls. Letting go of the door to let it swing back to place, she slowly made her way towards (Y/n). She was originally expecting to find her crying so to find her quiet and with a hollow look on her face slightly unnerved her. Looking around the bathroom and the open stalls, it appeared that there was no one else in there apart from them.
