(Y/n) never listened to anything that the teacher taught.
For nearly the whole duration of the first lesson, her bleary, vacant eyes were fixed on the board, but didn't seem to see anything that had been written. When revision papers were passed on during the last lesson, she robotically answered the questions but not to completion because in the middle of it, her mind strayed away back to her issues.
No matter how much she tried to concentrate, she still couldn't catch a break from her tormenting thoughts. Just when she thought things between her and Midoriya were finally smoothened out, she goes ahead and makes a fool of herself in front of him, flinging them both back to the drawing board. Then there's Satori, who somehow managed to override everything she thought she knew about Katsuki's motives and in the process, make her question herself if Satori genuinely wanted to help her or just flat out attack her. Uraraka, how could she forget, they hadn't spoken much since they got off the bus, which was unlike them. And finally, Katsuki, the official pain in her butt.
(Y/n) let out a fatigued sigh as she continued staring at the half-finished paper on her lap. The tip of her pen hovered above a question's unanswered space without any signs of movement. She looked up from the paper and her heavy-lidded eyes roamed around the class. Everyone else was busy with their question paper, with the sounds of hushed whispers and rustling of papers being flipped reigning dominant.
Unwillingly, her eyes zeroed in on the back of Katsuki's head and she thinned her lips as the memory of near fight in the hall flashed in her mind.
As human nature dictated, it wasn't uncommon for a person to want to shift the blame on another person or circumstance whenever things didn't go their way. It's meant to be a defense mechanism to protect their ego and reduce the stress placed on them. Thus why (Y/n) blamed Katsuki for everything happening to her, whether he was involved directly or indirectly. She didn't care. Besides, it would only be fair since he was blaming her for his feelings and demanded that she take responsibility.
If he even has genuine feelings for her that is.
Even so, as much as she fully wanted to blame Katsuki, a small part of her maintained the fact that she too shared in the blame. And if that small part of her was right and both Satori and Katsuki were correct to call her delusional, then did that mean that she had dealt with everything the wrong way? Should she had confronted her issues earlier on instead of ignoring them, allowing them to heap up until she couldn't deal with them any longer?
Come to think of it, the only reason why she ever did ignore her problems was because of Satori:
-Satori, I think I have a crush on Midoriya...remember him? Also, should I confess? Freckles? Yeah, I do. Damn, you work fast. And no, don't confess until you're sure he likes you too. Remember what happened last time?
-Satori, for some reason Katsuki started acting weird, he keeps pulling my hair, tripping me and insulting me, what do I do? Nothing, (Y/n). Ignore him. He'll stop when you don't react to him. You know what a fucking attention seeker he is.
-Satori, so I kinda figured out that Katsuki may have feelings for me. What? Ew, just brush him off. Don't act like you care.
-Satori, Katsuki cornered me during today's activity and did something that I didn't like. What do I do? Ugh, what's his problem? He's so annoying! Can't he just give up when he's rejected? Avoid him for the whole weekend.
-Satori...Katsuki and I argued and I accidentally confessed to Izuku, which didn't go so well. Oh, honey. I'm so sorry. I told you not to confess, didn't I? You just don't listen, do you? Anyway, give yourself some space, you need it so, don't do anything. Both you and Freckles are a bit tense from what happened, so talking this soon will only ruin things. DON'T TALK TO HIM. AND FUCK KAKAHOE
